Lake Effect always has delicious seasonal offerings. We got their Eclipse Cone for family coming to town for the eclipse. The Butterbeer ice cream, chocolate coating, and delicious sprinkles in the cone made it a tasty treat everyone was commenting on.

I’d say that this is more of like a gourmet joint actually the owners were my teachers in high school and they’re very very nice the atmosphere is extremely clean and the staff is friendly, I’d recommend this place for as a date once in a blue moon!

The ice cream is great, the flavors are interesting, and the parfaits live up to the name.Staff has always been friendly here, and the place is clean with a nice atmosphere.In better weather, there are some great spots nearby to eat your ice cream, too.The prices are really reasonable given the quality and quantity you receive.A++ I'm a repeat customer, and will continue to be.

Located in a remodeled historic building overlooking the Lockport Locks, the old-fashioned ice cream parlor is clean and welcoming. The great selection of unique flavors with equally fun and unique names ensures you'll want to keep coming back!

Innovative flavors, friendly staff, great location and decent prices.I always have a great time visiting lake effect in Lockport to get a delicious treat and eat it while overlooking the locks or taking a stroll down them. I have tried every flavor they've had on their menu (at least every one I've seen) and only had a couple I didn't particularly care for. The revolution coffee was too coffee-y for me; please note, I am a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker. The extra hot, extra creamy, a Frank's and blue cheese creation was weird, interesting, but only a one scooper for me... not to say it was bad, just a lot in an ice cream. They have a variety of flavors ranging from vanilla and chocolate to trick or treat (a candy bar filled creation) and black sesame. I think there is something for everyone. They offer scoops, cones, shakes, sundaes, cookie sandwiches, bars, cakes and popsicles. They also have bubble tea and floats.They also have a location on Hertel Ave in Buffalo. Get some ice creamy goodness in your pie hole at lake effect!

I really enjoy ice cream but I'm not really a fan of their ice cream because it's way too rich for me. I'm probably out of the norm for this place. Some of the flavors are funky but my favorite is the hot cocoa flavor along with glazed donut. I will say though, I am a fan of their s'mores pie at Thanksgiving time. The workers are usually teens that are in high school or just started college. This place I feel like is pretty standard for an ice cream place it's sort of sporty inside but trendy. Overall, I'm giving this place 3.5 stars.

If you're looking for unique and decedent ice cream flavors then Lake Effect is the spot!! From Paula's Donut mixed ice cream to black sesame, Meyer lemon, brown sugar whiskey, and even the classics - every single flavor will hit your tastebuds with delight! Located along the canal you can grab a cone and walk the canal path or watch the boats go by through the locks when it's warm or enjoy your tasty treat in their large indoor seating area. They also have ice cream cakes for sale in their case to celebrate! My only wish is that they had even one dairy free ice cream option, as dairy is usually not kind on my stomach, but even so I find their flavors worth it!
