Great location and very friendly staff. The food, however, didn't taste as fresh as I expected.

We tried the fish sandwich, lobster roll, and shrimp roll. Fish sandwich was the standout and easily the best of the three. Lobster roll was decent, though not among the best I've had. But shrimp roll was disappointing. It had an unusual flavor and didn't taste fresh.

Caesar salad was well prepared. Fries were overly salty. They had also run out of IPA beer, which was surprising for a regular Wednesday.

Overall, the experience was mixed. The service and location were excellent, but the food quality was inconsistent.

The food is good - fresh - well prepared. Service is very good, fast & attentive. The down side is the atmosphere which is strictly for younger people - it's cramped, loud and has the world's most uncomfortable seating.
My husband and I are pretty used to overcrowded NY restrauants but there was something about being seated near the rear of the dining room with all the noise and commotion that fostered intense claustrophobia in us both. We were overcome and we both wound up feeling somewhat sick & dizzy. We were overcome with an urgent need to flee. I know that type of atmosphere helps turn tables but as solid as the menu & service we won't be going back.

Obsessed with the tuna burger.

Not very good. Who decided that paprika should be the main taste in fish tacos. And who thinks you should overcook lobster in a lobster roll?

Every dish at Greenpoint Fish & Lobster was on point. The west coast oysters were so good that we ordered them 3 times! The crudo and tuna tostada were refreshing and a great way to start our meal. Octopus salad was my favorite dish, loved the olives with it. Lobster roll with butter (not mayo) was great too. Fries came crispy just how they should be. This is definitely a place to go in a group so you can try several dishes and flavors. Servers were friendly and helpful too. Large wine selection and they let you try as many as you’d like! Only negative comment is that the seating wasn’t very comfortable, but the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a seafood spot in Brooklyn.

Food: very fresh seafood but still on a pricey side, mussels are a must

Service: horrible horrible horrible!!! We’ve been there twice and both been bad
1. We made a reservation at 6 for outdoor seating but there was a storm, but we made it there and asked if they have any indoor seats. The check in lady was like nah but u can seat in the rain tho if u want or come back at 9. I was like ok I’ll call my friend to decide if we wanna stay or cancel, she told me to wait outside in the storm cuz it was too crowded indoor.
2. We came back the second day while there were plenty open res. Stood at the door in the sun waiting for the check in for 15 min while she(a different check in lady) was busy talking to other white customers. And finally she checked us in and asked us if we wanna seat indoor or outdoor, we said indoor. Then she was like ok u guys wait aside and went to check in the next group of white guests that was also walked-in and led them straight into the seats while we were still waiting.
3. And we were finally seated after standing 20min in the sun, the group next to us accidentally flipped the cucumber to my friends’ skirt that was bought exactly the day before. We said we can’t get the stain off the skirt, the waiter told us he could run next door to get some soap, and it never happened.
4. The cucumber guy told the waiter that he was gonna buy us our wine as apology, and he specifically said it twice. When we got our check, our wine were still on the check. I asked the waiter saying I thought he was buying us wine, he claimed that “I’ve never heard of this”

Another restaurant lost to transplants. I’m doing laundry down the street, been living in GP for 20 years … i made the mistake of thinking this place was still for locals at 730 on a sunday night. Nope, a line of trust fund kids and their parents visiting from Ohio taking up space outdoors to loiter after eating so they can be seen. Tried to sit at the bar only to be given a seat directly in the path of the sub zero temperature air conditioning blowing directly onto me and any food I’d order. Took a look at the menu and ordered 3 fish tacos that were $14 just a year ago (according to google maps reviews) but, of course, are $20 today. Changed seats and had to reorder because for some reason changing a seat at the bar erases one’s order. At this point, I’ve lost 25 minutes, so I just left. WHAT A SELLOUT PLACE. One of the guys next to me at the bar had his laptop out, at the bar, just googling away instead of just eating his food and leaving so that someone else could sit down. How the restaurant allowed this delusionally rude behavior at the bar is beyond me. And to take up so much space on both side of the public sidewalk, and still have such slow customer service and table turnaround is just selfish. The locals are sick of this catering to tourists.

What can I say? I’m a fan of the food, service, owners, atmosphere. Tacos are amazing! Oysters and drinks are a must! But I stay for the lobster rolls! Great specials and service. Clean and delicious

For a place with both fish and lobster in the name, at least one of those things should be good.
If I got the fish sandwich at a diner I’d be mildly impressed. Maybe a shitty pub actually.
If your lobster is tough then you shouldn’t be able to put it in your restaurant name. Call yourself greenpoint crab cakes and fries and maybe we’ll talk.
