This really was a disappointment. The tomato tarte tatin was overly sauced, making the tart so saturated it was pulpy. As for the gnocchi, it was completely mushy and overcooked but the beef cheeks were very tender and well seasoned. The main entree also took a very long time to come out of the kitchen even though the night we went wasn’t extremely busy. I used to live in the National Capital Region and would travel frequently to Quebec where the food is truly amazing, and I feel this place’s offerings are not an accurate representation of how good the food can be in Quebec.

M. Wells is simply a fantastic experience. Fun decor and a cocktail and wine list to match! And the excitement only increases once the food order arrives!! What an awesome place for a special meal or a fancy date night! Get there!

As someone who’s been traveling to Montreal for over a decade. You will not find a better fine dining experience outside of Quebec than M. Wells. Chef Hugue Dufour and his staff are very nice, kind and accommodating. I have been a proud patron for 7-8 years now and I love every time I can go there to eat. Merci!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Aging on the steak gave a ton of nice flavour and was perfectly rare to my liking, maybe one of the best I’ve had in New York. Poutine was good, a bit of squeak to the curd to remember Montreal, but probably not du jour. Frog legs were delicious, definitely worth trying for the adventurous and definitely an authentic Quebec dish. Coconut cake had a bit of fruity tang, not too sweet, definitely a great dessert. Service was really good.
Great experience. Outstanding food, friendly and helpful staff

Incredible food, for the burger and it was hefty and delicious. Make sure you order fries and poutine on the side! The bar menu is versatile, can’t wait to come back and try the steak and ravioli. Amazing service and eclectic vibes and decor. See you next time!

This was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The exterior decoration of the restaurant is quite nice, adorned with many plants at the entrance, but everything from ordering to dining to paying was disappointing.
Firstly, our server lacked a sense of service, perhaps due to the restaurant's mandatory 20% gratuity policy. He was very sluggish in taking our order and did not proactively refill our water. He also didn’t ask if we had finished our food when clearing our plates, making the entire service feel mechanical and rude.
Additionally, the food was bland and overpriced. Compared to similar dishes at French restaurants on Vernon Boulevard in LIC, their steak and seafood were nearly 50% more expensive but significantly inferior in taste. The steak was overcooked and tough to chew, and the butter was bland, failing to enhance the flavor of the meat. The swordfish was dry, and the sauce did not integrate well with the fish, resulting in an overall bland taste that was unappetizing.
Lastly, the presentation of the dishes was very ordinary, and the quality of the plates appeared low, not doing any favors to make the food look more appealing.
Overall, this restaurant was a disappointment and not worth a special trip. If you are staying in LIC or visiting, there are far better options for French cuisine and other types of food nearby.

This is our absolute favorite spot in LIC. On their typical service, we are guaranteed tasty and interesting dishes and cocktails along with the friendliest and knowledgeable staff and coziest atmosphere. There is a consistent atmosphere of exploring food that is so exciting. We also have had the pleasure of having our wedding here, and the entire experience was like the best dream. We loved working with Sarah, Hugue, and staff on the preparations, and it was truly a collaborative experience. They sat down with us many times to create a unique and surprising menu for the night that left our guests in awe. The execution on the day of the wedding, including the ceremony, was flawless and selfless. Thank you, M. Wells, for the best night of our lives!

I love the ambience, service and cocktails here. The food has always been creative and drool worthy. Unfortunately on my last two visits the entrees were all hit or miss. I love this place and the staff is always so wonderful so I hope they tighten up in the kitchen a bit!

cool LIC industrial atmosphere, nice service, very different menu, the menu items and preparation were different than almost anything I've seen before. The trout was so interesting and different.

We're from Montreal and were curious to taste what Hugues Dufour had to offer in NY. I can only speak for my experience on that one night and maybe that just wasn't the right night but boy, was it disappointing! I had the Burger the rêves which was supposed to be fois gras decadence. It was more like a cheap smash burger and did not even taste fois gras. The one I had at the deli in La Guardia two nights later on my way back to Montreal was better than that one I paid 34$ with no side. The smoked meat ravioli my girlfriend ordered was ok, but no more. My two other friends were not impressed either with the tagine and the doré. At least the poutine was good. Being trendy doesn't deserve stars. Good food for the money does.
