“Solid breakfast burritos and great tortillas, which are like gold here. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu yet, but it’s just a matter of time - the salads look awesome. I moved here from Texas a year ago and love everything about the city (except for the rent), but I do miss Tex Mex and good tortillas. New Mexican is its own cuisine and sure hits the spot while also being healthier, and those tortillas are a game changer. So glad to have found this place, just had breakfast from here, and am already looking forward to going back.“

“We went for lunch this weekend and loved it! Ordered the mini burritos, Al pastor tacos, birria tacos, the churros, and tres leches cake. The birria tacos were are favorite but everything was so good. Great vibes and service! Will definitely be back!“

“The reviews are right. This place has great tasting food! We got the J*** chicken with rice and peas and plantains. We also got the wings with Rasta Pasta and plantains. Everything was on point and super flavorful. I highly recommend the wings - they are the best thing we got and the best wings you can get. I will say it was a little more expensive than usual but the portion sizes were good and the food tasted great so its worth it. Highly recommend trying this place.“

“I found this location on OpenTable and truly had no idea what to expect. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about their offerings as well as accommodating to my tree nut allergy. “This place rules. Favorite burrito in BK. It's a utility burrito, sturdy - you can eat it with your hands no foil and its heavy you're going to be catatonic after eating it. Quesadilla are also heavy heavy, they do not skimp on the meats, veggies, mushrooms, what have you. Favors are great, salsas are poppin, vibes are welcoming. Thank you Rancho, te amo.“

“Lovely quaint restaurant next to the train station. I was interested in a cecina plate, which was not on the menu, but the owner graciously cooked to order for me. The mole veracruzano was different, unique and strong in flavor; unlike the mole I grew up eating. The mole enchiladas had plenty of shredded chicken. Very pleased with the service too. Would recommend, stop by!“

“I ordered a vegetarian burrito for take out. It was literally the best burrito I've ever had. It was so fresh, not greasy or heavy and the blend of flavors was amazing.

“Fresh delicious AUTHENTIC Mexican food here! This is one of three of the best Mexican food trucks in NYC! I recently went to their new location on 49st on Park Ave and everything was fantastic. Staff was friendly and efficient, the counters were clean and there are 4 chairs to sit and eat outside. My quesadilla was made fresh to order and it was one of the best I had. Prices are reasonable and seasoning is perfect and authentic 👌 Must try the food here if you are near any of their locations.“

Big portions and great flavor. Lots of options and sides. The staff was super friendly and professional. We were served quickly and correctly. No complaints!

The vibe and décor are fun. Surfer/Cali vibes. Lots of neat wall-hangings with a few surprising items to find. They do a lot with the small space, but without feeling cluttered or claustrophobic. Very clean shop. Not a lot of space, but plenty of seating (or carry out). Bathrooms were very clean, too.

“It is a hidden gem worth tracking down! Ordering was a breeze with plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was super informative and helpful—happy to answer questions and make great recommendations.

The tacos? Absolutely delicious. We tried the grilled chicken, fried chicken, grilled fish, and steak—and every single one was a hit. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The food came out quickly, which was a huge plus, especially with hungry kids in tow.

While the seating area is limited, it’s just enough to grab a spot, sit down, and stuff your face—no frills, just great food. Bonus points for being kid-friendly—our kids loved it too. El Jefe is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Top notch!“

“Yummy yummy yummy! This food was delicious and authentic. Finally some good Mexican food in NYC! They were cash or Zelle only. They had some seating inside, mostly bar table height with one regular 4 seat table.
I had a huarache, which was perfectly fried with all the right toppings. My husband enjoyed the birria tacos, with the tortillas that had been classically marinated and pan fried. We'll be back.“

“I went here and ordered nachos which consisted of homemade tortilla chips, melted with cheese, in a bed of black beans puree, topped with crema, guacamole and pico de gallo (and shrimps=one of the options to choose from) and I really loved it. “My girlfriend and I had a great experience. Good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The drinks were good and the steak tacos were great. We’d ordered the guacamole and chips and asked them if it came with tomatoes (I’m allergic) the bar tender came back a few mins later and let us know that their guacamole was made with tomatoes but that she would take it off the bill. A manager (maybe the owner) stopped by the table and offered to make the guacamole fresh without tomatoes. We’re thankful for the generosity and would recommend House of Music to anyone.“
