Great deal for 3 rolls, and they were all fantastic, although the salmon was my favorite. Also had the opportunity to chat with the chef which was a treat.

Fish is fresh and practically melts in your mouth
Best place for omakase!
A 5-star omakase meal that rivals fish in top Manhattan omakase spots in an unassuming restaurant in Astoria.
Chef Alex puts so much care and takes such pride in his craft. I love tasting the fish and what accentuates it; I don’t need bells and whistles and Chef Alex creates wonderful flavors that truly highlight the unique taste and texture of the fish.
The ambience is much to be desired, but the omakase speaks for itself- and at a very fair price point that I would go so far as to call a deal. What a gem.

I’ve been going to this spot for at least 4+ years now. The omakase is such a steal (10 pc + handroll is $60, 14 pc + handroll is $90) and never disappoints! Chef Alex and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I’ve been bringing friends and out of town guests many times over the years, and everyone leaves satisfied.

Best Japanese place in Long Island City. A hidden jewel. Tried the omakase, dynamite and rock and roll and I really like it. Will definitely come back again. Friendly staff

I have only wonderful things to say about Sake Kawa. My sister and I come here regularly for sushi and Omakase, and we never leave disappointed. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the Omakase is to die for. Each serving is unique in flavor and the rice is seasoned perfectly. And all at an incredible price. The chefs and servers are all so friendly and welcoming, it’s hard to justify ever going elsewhere. If you are torn on where to go for sushi or omakase in Astoria, I highly recommend giving Sake Kawa a shot!

I cannot say enough good things about Sake Kawa - the service is incredible and the sushi chefs are all extremely talented and welcoming. I’ve gone here for Omakase and sushi and both are excellent. The sushi stands out for me as the best in Astoria. I’ve gone to every other omakase restaurant in Astoria and I keep coming back to Sake Kawa because of his good it is and how friendly the chefs are. Highly recommend on all fronts!

Food was exceptional. We had the omakase $60 and $90 set. Every piece had a unique flavor that perfectly complements the fish. Would recommend you try it out.
