Sugar Freak is a restaurant in Astoria that offers spectacular food with a Louisiana flair. The vegan chicken po'boy is deliiiiicious, and the oysters Rockefeller and okra are great. Despite some outdated menu listings on Google, there are plenty of vegetarian options available. The service, however, can be hit or miss; while some servers are nice and attentive, others can be horrible and unhelpful, detracting from the overall experience. Overall, the food is amazing, making it a great spot in NY for comfort food with a Louisiana twist.
