Casa Melania is a spacious Ecuadorian restaurant that feels open and not like a box of sardines. It is a great place for watching events, such as a world cup qualifier, and is quiet on weekdays. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, but the service and food earn it five stars. On weekend nights it can be packed, like a night club, but the atmosphere remains nice. Parking is difficult during lunch hours and when the area is busy; it is easier at night. The restaurant is located in an industrial area with hubs such as FedEx and UPS, so it is a little out of the way.
The food is consistently praised as great and flavorful. Guests love the mixed Bolon, the Bandera (pictured), and the Blackberry smoothie. The goat stew, shrimp ceviche with yellow rice and avocado, a fillet of fish, and cafe flan dessert are highlighted as delicious. Service is attentive and the presentation is wonderful, tasting just like a mom or grandma in Ecuador. Overall, the place is highly recommended and deserves five stars.
