Macari Vineyards Wineries • $$
150 Bergen Ave, Mattituck

“I have been a wine club member at Macari for quite some time and I wish I visit more often to enjoy some of the members’ benefits. I managed to visit this past Saturday with some guests from out-of-state. I wanted to seize the moment and showcase New York/Long Island wine country. Macari did not disappoint!Macari is aesthetically pleasing, from the wine bar to the indoor tasting room which gives way to the closed-in deck. The effort to simple details was not missed by us – for example, the furniture on the closed-in deck is iron but there are sheepskin throws (synthetic fur) on each chair which warms up the whole appearance.Service was superb – our waiter (I am bummed I do not remember his name) eloquently described the wines as he poured. He was warm and invited us to inquire about any of the wines. We started our tasting with the Sparkling Pino Noir (I strongly recommend this sparkling) – the flavors of the berries were profound and quite refreshing. We continued with Macari’s different Chardonnays, Tocai Friulano (this wine is only available in the tasting room and not available for online purchase as I have tried to order it). And we wrapped up our tasting with the Dos Aguas. Dos Aguas is a medium body blend which paired very well with their pizza.Tasting Room Notes –I would like to see Macari showcase Bergen Road as a part of its tasting menu. It is a gem and one of Macari’s greatest reds (full body).I love the pizza menu which is new (first time for me). It is a great benefit when one can go wine tasting and have lunch at the same place/time.And, Oh la la – the new addition - The Olive Oil! – it has such a punch. I came home with 2 bottles. Offers baguettes and you will have me coming back!Hints – reservation is strongly recommended, even for wine club members.“

Roanoke Vineyards Wine Bar Wine Bar • $$
165 Love Ln, Mattituck

“The wine portfolio at Roanoke is superb and truly highlights the best of what the North Fork has to offer. The blends are well thought out and executed, and they continue to experiment with things like wild yeast and Chardonnay that it aged in steel and wood for a complex taste and finish without being a vanilla bomb too many places have changed too. The reds have expressive terroir and have depth and complexity. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable and kind. They know when to talk to your group and can sense when you want to just chill. Never pushy to force wines to go down your throat, it's an immersive experience with great wines and is the best across the board selection in all of NY, Finger Lakes included. And it's on the super-cute Love Lane, where shopping and eating are just steps away. What are you waiting for? Go!!!!“

Bridge Lane Tasting Room Winery • $$
35 Cox Neck Rd, Mattituck

“A favorite place of ours since last year. We're looking forward to spending another season here. This quaint establishment with beautiful decor and a pooch wall of fame, serves delicious wine and snacks. They allow you to bring your own food if you wish to pair it with one of their offerings. You're welcomed to sit inside or on a nice sunny day take advantage of outside picnic table seating. They have beautiful outdoor blankets you can use if that North Fork breeze gives you a chill. We didn't need them yesterday as we drank our flights and dined on tuna and crackers. The young lady behind the counter was super sweet and knowledgeable. She let us know that their most popular, White Merlot bottles were sold out. But, still available in cans. I love their Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. My Honey partial to reds, enjoys the Red Blend. He was excited when she informed us that they will soon have a Pinot Noir for him to try! The space, the excellent customer service and of course the wine all combine to make this a little slice of heaven. I absolutely love it here“

Meadowlark North Fork Winery •
24385 Main Rd, Cutchogue - 2.2 miles

“I’ve been a wine club member at Macari for several years. Tonight, they opened up Meadowlark for an elaborate wine tasting and charcuterie spread, allowing us to try our quarterly club selections. It was an incredible experience! Everyone there is so friendly and clearly loves what they do. Their passion for excellence in customer experience and customer service is incredible. One of my very favorite people, Audrey, was at the event tonight pouring from one of the White wine tables. She is a beacon of light—I was SO HAPPY to see her. It was also a treat to finally meet Megan in person; she is always so attentive when I email the wineclub—highly recommended visiting either of Macari’s locations and joining their wine club!“

Pellegrini Vineyards Wineries • $$
23005 Main Rd, Cutchogue - 1.91 miles

“If my husband and I had the opportunity to re-do our wedding, we would without a doubt choose Pellegrini Vineyard’s again as our venue. When touring venues, we knew that we wanted a unique space that wouldn’t treat us as just another number (like at your standard banquet hall). During our tour at Pellegrini, my husband and I KNEW that this was where we wanted to say “I do”. What really sold us on Pellegrini was the “inclement weather” option for a ceremony… their wine cellar! I mean, how many people can say that they got married in a wine cellar??Since booking, John had always been available for any questions/concerns that we had in the planning process, and always gave us his opinion and recommendation based off of his experience in the business! We had our wedding on September 23, 2023, and despite the weather from tropical storm Ophelia… the entire day could not have been more perfect! Due to the weather, we had our ceremony in the wine cellar and it was absolute magic. We had been wondering what we would do with the cellar had we not had the ceremony down there, and it seems as thought it was fate to have our ceremony down there! We had a string duo (violinist and cellist) play before the ceremony and for the processional, which made the ceremony so cozy and intimate (despite having 130 of us down there… there was plenty of room for all!)The remainder of the night, John and his staff were attentive on ours and our guests needs, and helped make the whole night move seamlessly! We can’t wait to continue to visit Pellegrini, it’ll always have a special place in our hearts now.I would 1000% recommend Pellegrini Vineyards to any future couples for their wedding!“

Osprey's Dominion Wineries • $$
44075 Main Rd, Peconic - 5.72 miles

“I came here as part of a wine bus tour. It was my least favorite of the three wineries we visited. We felt like just a number here, as it wasn't a very personalized experience. An employee came on to our bus to welcome us but after that, we were pretty much on our own. We tasted four wines, which were served in plastic cups. Other than brief descriptions printed on a sheet on the serving tray, not much information was shared about the wines. You could purchase hot dogs here as well as "sangria," which was basically just a rose spritzer. We walked through the vineyards but they were not as picturesque as other spots. One nice touch was that there was a band playing live music. It's a decent place to visit and a nice outdoor option to get out of NYC but wouldn't be at the top of my list to return to.“

“Absolutely LOVELY spot. A beautiful and cozy vineyard with a wonderful manager that will come over and explain all the wines and notes to you and your guests and give you a real tasting experience. We went on a rainy day, so the big cozy barn with art was PERFECT. so if you’re going on a cold day/not perfect weather… it’s the perfect spot. All the wines we tasted were DELICIOUS and we bought a few bottles. Thank you Evie for a great experience!! The dog that roams around is sweet, kind, doesn’t bark and lets you pet him but doesn’t follow you around. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks since they don’t serve. It was a perfect experience.“

“I celebrated my 33rd birthday 2/25. It was amazing we had a party bus drop us off. Though it’s winter season it was still beautiful to visit. Tasting deck has wonderful lighting. We got upgraded to the private cellar to accommodate for very chilly temperatures took minute for tasting deck to warm up. The staff was amazing (Gaetno & Christian) and helpful. My favorite wine was the Steel Chardonnay. We will be back for spring/summer time.“

“Jason’s vineyard is one of the few vineyards that still allows outside food, children, and dogs. It is a very relaxed and welcoming environment. We’ve been going there for 5 years now and absolutely love it. Every time we are there, we recognize the faces of the employees, a sure sign that the people who work there are treated well and enjoy their job.PS the rose, Chardonnay, and bubble should all be tried!!!“

Coffee Pot Cellars Wineries • $$
31855 Main Rd, Cutchogue - 3.47 miles

“Coffee Pot Cellars is a delightful stop on the North Fork wine trail. Just note that they are open mainly on the days around and including the weekend days. We had the privilege of meeting the winemaker, Adam, who was a great host and obviously knows his wines well. He also went to my alma mater so we had to talk about our university too. The wines were nice, but they do not expect to ship their wine unless you live in New York since they only ship in state. His wife also runs a farm and makes preserves, jams, etc and preserves Monarch butterflies. Very enjoyable stop and recommend.“

“This is a rustic simple experience - a farm with incredible wines. That's what a tasting room should be in my opinion; all about tasting wines. Authentic, estate grown and sustainable wines, the best we had all week. Don't expect air conditioning or music or anything like that. 10/10“

Mattebella Vineyards Wineries • $$
46005 NY-25, Southold - 6.15 miles

“Nice winery in Long Island. Each part of the winery has its own character, and they have different seating arrangements for groups of 4-8. The wines & charcuterie boards are on the pricey side. We got the White wine tasting menu. It was 38$ and we got to taste 9 different wines. They were all quite good. The service was Aok. The negatives were the porta potty situation and the cash only tips. They should get real bathrooms and not many people have cash with them. Overall it was a good experience.“

Sannino Vineyard Winery • $$

“I did a winemaking experience with the owner Anthony and his daughter last month just before christmas. We had a lot of fun! The wine was amazing, we had a tour of the grounds and barrel rooms that was super informative. The owner was awesome, he was very friendly and welcoming, we had a lot of fun discussions throughout. We did our winemaking last and it was so cool to be on the other side of it doing the blending ourselves. We corked, sealed, and decorated our bottles ourselves and then actually ended up buying an entire case of mixed wines with the discount we got with the experience-because there was too much good stuff to choose from. Definitely a great experience for anyone into wine/winemaking... or even just wine drinking ?“

“This is a favorite winery of my wife and I. Nice and comfortable grounds, good selection of wines, friendly staff. Got a bag of corks we used for decoration when they were cleaning up and the bartender asked if we wanted them instead of them just throwing out the corks. Also went to a dinner they host in their vineyard with the wine master, and a bunch of the staff. Most of the food was sourced from local farms. It was a very cool experience.“

“I came here as part of a north fork vineyard tour. This was the second stop and there were a few things that made it different from the others.I really enjoyed the wine but the presentation of it took away from the experience. We had the wine in plastic cups, which was a bit odd. The vineyard was beautiful and there was a ton of space to roam around. They had live music but it got drowned out by the other sounds. Tip; this place lets you bring outside food! I really liked all the wine especially the blueberry one which comes with a piece of chocolate.“

Hound's Tree at Sherwood House Tasting Room Wineries • $$

“I didn't love any of the wines, except the sparkling blanc de blanc (first of the tasting) and the Cabernet franc (fourth of the tasting) but the place itself is very nice. We enjoyed the outdoor seating in the sun and there were several cute rooms in the house-like structure to choose from if you wanted to stay indoors. There is also an art gallery next door as well as a hardware store. It's also a 5 min walk from Jamesport in case you want to check out a second winery. Overall, didn't love the wines but still a fun experience and a cute place to check out. They do have some light snacks to choose from if you'd like, though we came from lunch so didn't try any.“

Bedell Cellars Wineries • $$
36225 Main Rd, Cutchogue - 4.33 miles

“Bedell makes wines sustainably and has a scenic outdoor tasting space. Their tasting flight was $25/$30, and we thought their wines were good but did not find one extraordinary enough to purchase a bottle of. Also, we did not have a great tasting experience either. This was the first Long Island winery we visited and we were hoping to learn about Long Island wines during our visit but the guy pouring our wine didn't really want to talk. We each got a flight, the pre-selected one and a build your own. Instead of pouring one wine at a time, the guy rushed pouring both flights, in no order, then got confused on which was which, then directed us to carry our four glasses (without a holder) outside so by the time we got outside we really had no clue which wines were which. They also didn't give us menus so we had to pull up both the menu and tasting notes on our phones to try and guess which wine we were tasting. However the scenic view outside overlooking the vineyard was pleasant.“
