I recently visited the Heirloom Restaurant prior to Bonnie Raitt at the Chautauqua Venue. The dinner was served buffet style with 2 seatings, which I had reservations for the second. The proteins served as part of the buffet were catfish, chicken and beef tenderloin. The beef was the highlight of the entire buffet. It turned out that almost all of the beef was served to the first serving. Initially the staff told everyone that more was being cooked. Ultimately they came clean and found a few pieces of beef for a two of us. First they should have had more beef obviously but they also should have been forthright so people did not wait to eat thinking the beef was coming. The service serving was excellent and the restaurant did pick up the costs of our drinks. But for the price of the buffet, the beef was certainly the feature item.
The venue was close and convenient tomorrow the concert. We were at the 5:30 buffet seating. We easily found out door seating on the porch. While the prime rib was good, I was looking forward to good fried chicken. Instead it was cold breaded chicken thighs. The veggies were good and offered a decent assortment. Desert bite sizes were perfect . The naming of each offering with a song was cute. While the buffet was decent it did not command the $55 price
The restaurant did a pre set buffet for the Bonnie Raitt concert, everything was very good.
The “pop up” Southern buffet offered before the Bonnie Raitt concert was wonderful. Great song themes associated with southern-style offerings. We chose the 4:30 seating to allow ample time to enjoy our meal and wander a bit before the concert.
I was pleasantly surprised with everything. Service was great , food was great. It made the evening fantastic. I did wish one thing that we booked a nights stay in the hotel! This was so much fun. I would recommend doing this hotel to anyone I know! Thanks for some great memories!!!!
Food was very mediocre, not good, flavorless. Very disappointing. Won't recommend or return. The view is lovely on the lake, but that's all. Not worth the trip.
We had a wonderful time at here enjoying a special dinner prepares by two chefs. What a special occasion!
Great menu, however the pasta dish and entre were not even warm. My duck breast was very tough and difficult to cut. Met some interesting people, but do not know if I would repeat this experience.
Peggy was great and handled my miscooked salmon and old, cold couscous with grace . Service was a bit slow maybe due to the competing chefs table dinner being served in the other dining room. Otherwise, all good.
Wonderful venue. Food was good! Wine was good! Service excellent! I would go back any time.

Absolutely lovely server named Presley. Engaging, attentive and knowledgeable. They are lucky to have her. Excellent cocktail, bread was delicious, but the entree was barely warm and the taste was unpleasant. This is the first time we have ever had bad food there so we were surprised. Without our asking, they took the entrees off our bill, asked if they could bring us another entree or dessert. In other words, they coudnt have been nicer. The manager spoke to us also. So one bad meal isnt going to deter us from eating there again when the server and management are obviously concerned about our experience. We have faith this was an aberration. I
Excellent food and service. Veggie stack and mussels and the pork chop. We were in and out in time for the symphony. Previously, we had the dinner buffet with the ribeye. The service never disappoints. Try the Pennsylvania Punch.
Excellent... Beautiful surroundings. Staff “”””””were most attentive, but by body language indicated that the summer had been long. Food was tasty, but not exceptional.
We are staying at the Atheneum Hotel so have several nights of reservations at the Heirloom. Food is somewhat hard to get in Chautauqua Institution. The wait staff is woefully unstaffed but tries it best. The kitchen doesn't get along with the waitstaff. When we asked about our food, the waitress said the kitchen had yelled at her and told her not to ask again. After a full hour, we got our food cold and tasteless. We paid NYC prices for inferior food.
Waited a bit long between drinks and bread and meal. Food not really hot. Average experience
