But there was one thing that stands out is a cocktail that tasted like Banana Taffy. I don’t remember the name but is was the most delicious cocktail I’ve ever had. I’ve been meaning to go back ever since. Great place! Great food, great service, great vibe and amazing cocktails!

We were in Bellmore for an overnight visiting family...we were trying to find a place for a Monday night dinner and I spotted this place on Yelp. Anchor Down did not disappoint. We all ordered a variety of drinks, including a couple of their signature drinks. We really enjoyed the drinks. Our waiter, I think Kyle was very attentive! We ordered so e appetizers, mussels and 2 salads that they split in four. The mussels were delicious, in a white wine sauce. The salads were also very refreshing as an entree. We would come back for sure!

Took a shot on a cold internet search and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Monk Fish and was blown away with its preparation. Run don't walk to try this dish. The Tuna Special is in the background.

My husband and I ate dinner at Anchor Down and it was amazing! I had a lobster roll - the best you can get, and I have had them in Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine! My husband had clam chowder and shrimp with pasta (the dish had bread crumbs on top). He absolutely loved it! We ate on an outdoor patio and felt like we were in the Caribbean. There was also a woman singing who was really good. The service was also excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Nothing about this restaurant blew me away that would make me want to come back. I have to give it to them that the service was excellent. For starters they had live music outside which was way to loud for me, we decided on a table inside but were still barely able to hear each other speak. It's a small cozy restaurant. I felt the ceiling was very low. My drink was way to strong to be enjoyable. I know some may take this as a plus but I prefer to be able to have a refreshing alcoholic beverage not one to get me drunk. Food meh, I was excited for the calamari based of previous reviews but it was too salty and more breading than calamari. My entree was delicious I ordered the Montauk Fluke Oreganata, fish was fresh and the sauce was delicious. My partner hated his dish I wish I remembered what it was exactly but I know it was a fish dish and "too saucy" may have been a special. Overall good restaurant for a night out, not an intimate dinner.
