Food and drinks were great. Good size portions. Just a warning-some of their blackened food is REALLY spicy (ie alligator skewers). Plenty of seating and a decent size bar area. They had live entertainment and he was good, doing a lot of 60's and 70's music. (Previously The Bayou in Bellmore and the current restaurant was former site of RS Jones)

I went to this place for the 1st time with my boyfriend yesterday. We had no idea it was even there but everybody should know about it. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Great flavor and spices. The service was also extremely attentive and staff made us feel very welcome. A great southern flair experience!

Went there tonight for LI restaurant week. Enjoyed every minute there. The food was great (omg the gumbo!!!!) very big portions. The service was very good, the waitress was nice, we had a lovely conversation with her. Will definitely go back and recommend to my friends.

We went here with friends since they were participating in restaurant week. We loved the food; shrimp and grits and gumbo were delicious. The cornbread was also a table pleaser. The staff was working hard to keep things moving while engaging with quick wit and smiling faces. We enjoyed a delicious meal and great service. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Needs sangria. Honor partial gift certificates from RSJones and certainly should have honored Bayou certificates. Need to build clientele not turn them away. Give a little to get a little. Stay consistent with music. Bar used to be full. Create a warm inviting place people want to come back to. More specials to get us in the door. Good luck

Bayou Jones is a phenomenal Merrick treasure. The blues music is great and live performances are beautiful. The food is very tasty I got the Chipotle Bourbon BBQ Pork Tacos which was absolutely top notch. The whole restaurant reminded me of new Orleans and brought me some nostalgia. Great job Bayou Jones!

Absolutely loved every single dish my sons and I tasted. Well, except that darn gator skewers. We just can't seem to enjoy the chewy nature of this very spicy appetizer. Gonna have to come back and try their other dishes. Something we haven't done lately. We haven't been repeat guests in a while. Finally found a place we like after a brief hiatus.
