Delicious food and still reasonable price ? the bar also has a good atmosphere to have some cocktails.

We’ve been visiting this restaurant for many years under different names. The food has always been very good. Last night was no exception. Food & drinks perfect. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. The decor looks like it came from the dollar store. The bathroom is in disrepair.
BUT the food is delicious.

If you’re looking for some great food with a N’awlins inspired vibe, look no further. The Rabbit Hole (aka Anchor Down) is the latest creation of renowned Executive Chef Stephen Rosenbluth. Delicious seafood, including full raw bar, best lobster rolls on the island, fresh Maine lobster, shrimp, fresh fish daily, crab cakes, mussels, prepared with a N’awlins flair. Plenty of classics too: amazing soup and salad selections, chicken, steak, fresh pasta, burgers, wings, calamari and plenty of daily specials.

Friendly, on point service, drinks were on the table in a blink, no problem ordering apps, then ordering dinner. (this reviewer can’t stand when you’re ordered to place entire order at once)

Fully stocked top shelf bar, that you can dine at as well. Fully air conditioned indoor and an awesome outdoor tropical dining area too.

Located at 1960 Bayberry Drive, Merrick, Long Island, NY. Plenty of free parking, reservations recommended, but not required.

This is a must try, you will love it, I sure did.

It was ok. The spinach dip wasn't my favorite. I liked the calamari and lobster roll. My friend really liked her drink. No water view. Kids' pasta with butter was $12 doesn't feel worth it.

We will not return! absolutly loved anchor down! The new ownership is terrible. We went in for a drink and some appetizers. Lobster bisque was watered down broth. There was no bread no crackers . The clams were the size of a finger print. The bartender was as rude as can be after waiting to pay our bill after minutes of system issues. Such a shame since we really loved anchor down.

Should have stayed anchor down. Drinks were mediocre. Lobster roll was in a hot dog bun 36.00. Should have been 26.00 At most. Sent several drinks back because they didn’t taste right. Bartender was very nice and was glad to remake another drink. Staff was friendly This was one of my favorite places when it was anchor down. Sad to say I don’t think I will go back. Fabio’s next door Will be our go to moving forward. My suggestion a better craft cocktail menu. And for the price the lobster should have been like it used to be. Seems like they are cheating out like salt down the road did. Very sad. Hopefully they make some changes.

My friend and I went to dinner here last night. (Friday) It was packed! Our waitress, Kim was lovely and attentive. We enjoyed barbecue chips and dip upon arrival, followed by perfectly prepared Bang Bang Shrimp and Fried Calamari appetizers. Salad, fish & chips, and braised beef quesadillas were all delicious! We still managed to save room for french toast bread pudding for dessert. *The restaurant was decorated with an Alice in wonderland theme...even in the restrooms. Adorable!!

Great food, service. Great drinks and dessert, too. The prices were very reasonable as well. Will definitely go back. I cleaned my plates, as did everyone else with us that evening.

We had an early dinner here - we ordered the fish and chips and short ribs - I thought the food was fantastic. Very unassuming place, chill, with lots of locals dining (always a good sign), I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff as well! I pinned this place and will be coming back when I’m in the neighbourhood.

Wow! Everything from the appetizing homemade potatoe chips to the Milky Way cappuccino was excellent. Four of us had short ribs, 2 hanger steaks, and a filet of sole. All seasoned well, prepared perfectly as ordered, and presented wonderfully! The entrées were so delicious, we decided to go all out on the desert menu. French toast bread pudding, creme brulee, apple cranberry cobbler and cheesecake. To drink 2 Milky Way cappuccinos, a banana pudding martini, a s'mores martini. Every single item I just listed was above and beyond! I would be remiss if I did not mention our outstanding waitress Alyssa. Alyssa was friendly and attentitive without being overbearing, all while possessing a good sense of humor. Serious compliments to the chef! The entire party agreed that we will be back. Thank you Rabbit Hole for a great dining experience.

Will not return ever.
Used to love Anchor down.
This restaurant has False advertisement on their website about dishes in their menu.
Food is very mediocre.
And after an owners reply, I can add:
I wish, I would order short ribs…
Instead, I ordered salmon.
Before placing an order, I asked if salmon is wild. Waitress went to find out and returned with the answer “ yes, it’s wild”
Of course it was not a wild salmon on my plate. I prefer, I would be told a truth and order instead a different dish.
Or maybe, I should of get up and walk away when I didn’t see a dish I came in for on the inside menu

3.5 stars. I was a big fan of Anchor Down and wanted to give Rabbit Hole a try. Came with a friend for lunch and we were the only people there. Service was good, but that would be hard to mess up although possible. I honestly prefer both the menu and decor of Anchor Down. The stack salad was great. The french onion soup was kind of small and I've had better. The birria and chicken tacos were good but you get too small tacos, no sides for $16 and I honestly was hungry as soon as I got home. I have never had birria so I can't compare but it was tender and not fatty. I liked the sauce of the birria but did not like the sauces served with the tacos but my friend liked them. I would have liked more topping options but the pickled red onions were good. It is nice that they accept the Foodie card and offer groupons. Will consider trying again for dinner.
