First ambiance is nice, but I can't eat it. Once we got seated, with no delay, the food was an hour and a half in coming. The owner seemed to believe this is ok, it isn't. Poor operation, and lack of concern may be ok in Manhatten, but it doesn't play well here in the burbs. The wait.staff service was good when there was something to serve. I recommend the onion soup, the rest of my groups selections rated ordinary.

My husband and I went for dinner with 2 of our friends to celebrate my milestone birthday. We had reservations for 7 pm on a Saturday night.while we sat for a while with not even water we ordered our food and wine without a hitch. That’s when the service went downhill fast. By 8:40 we only had been served our salads and I spoke to one of the owners. She was very nonchalant in telling me everything is cooked to order and it takes time. Her attitude was very nonchalant in caring about our comfort.while the expensive food was really good it didn’t matter as we ate it so late. We will not be going back again. No amount of good food is worth being ignored and dismissed, especially by the owner.

I’ve been coming here for many years and the food is always impeccable! I’ve never had a bad meal nor ever had bad service. All the food is cooked in an open fireplace and adds the perfect flavor to everything, including steak, seafood and all the sides! This is family run and I’ve sent many people here over the years and have always been warmly thanked for the recommendation! A must try when your in Millbrook

This was a total surprise and I suppose it’s somewhat premature to give a 5 star review after only one visit, but our main courses were so delicious I had to alert the dining community. Spur of the moment,we were invited by friends to meet them in Millbrook for dinner. We had never heard of the Millbrook Cafe, which was chosen after we found out our first choice was closed. For some reason I decided to raid my cellar and brought a ‘99 Premiere Cru Savigny. The menu was somewhat limited and I chose breast of duck accompanied with a blueberry horseradish sauce. My wife chose breast of chicken. The breast of duck proved to be the best I have ever had: very crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. Simply delicious. My wife said her chicken was the same but I didn’t taste it. The ‘99 Burgundy proved the perfect match for the duck. The next day I told a very close friend. He went the next night and he had the same experience with the duck: the best ever. I will be going back to try other entrees but for now it’s hard to resist the duck breast!!

We drove 45 minutes to dine specifically at the Millbrook Cafe and I have to say, the food (Chef Alex) and service (thank you Julian and John) did not disappoint. It was absolutely brilliant. I had the Sole with Shrimp and Scallops, my wife had the NY Strip and she was in heaven and lastly our friend had the Rack of lamb which was perfection. We loved meeting Dominika and learning about the history. We can’t wait to be back and we will.

We dine at the Millbrook Cafe frequently; Dominika and her family consistently provide wonderful food, attentive service and warm hospitality. This evening, Chef Alex prepared a beautiful, fresh piece of cod that was blackened and cooked perfectly; it was absolutely one of the finest pieces of fish I have ever eaten anywhere in the world.

Be Nice

Miss the café dearly I have been trying to master making my own French soup like how Alex makes it here like how I use to make it when I worked there in my younger years but it goes unmatched as only the finishing touch of Christoffs wood fired oven can add to it.
My sister and brother inlaw got my girlfriend and I a gift certificate to the Cafe for christmas and we are looking forward to visiting and rekindling an old flame with o e of my all time favorite restaurants to eat as well as where I learned so many life lessons and how to cook. See you soon Millbrook!! <3

Really a special place to have dinner. I was surprised that they new most of the customers that were there. I felt like I was in Cheer's The service was outstanding. The food was delicious. The portions could have been more. I had the special for the night was Duck it was wonderful. It came with rice I feel that they should change to wild rice as the white rice wasn't as good All in all I would go back again.
