It was my first time at Ruschmeyer’s in Montauk, and from the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The front desk team was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond—helping with my bags and giving me a great lay of the land.
The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and comfortable. But the real magic was in the shared spaces—the expansive lawn, cozy fire pits (complete with a s’mores kit!), shady trees perfect for relaxing, and a stylish bar and lounge area inside.
The location couldn’t be better—just about 0.7 miles to downtown and the beach, making for an easy walk or bike ride. We made the most of our time here and are leaving tan, full, and completely satisfied. Couldn’t ask for more—already looking forward to my next visit!
Phenomenal nightlife experience, very mediocre food.
Quaint and cozy with Dirty Dancing Vibes!
The chef at The Grill is absolutely amazing!
We had a lovely dining experience our first night at Ruschmeyers.
Exceptional menu, we tried quite a few things and they were all exquisite. Our lovely server Ausha,( hope I’m spelling her name right) was wonderful and suggested the Branzino, not kidding, best I’ve ever had!
Sawyer and Colin helped us at the bar and were both extremely knowledgeable.
Ava checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. The entire staff is just lovely.
Review for restaurant only. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food! Our appetizers came out quickly but our entrees took forever. We finally called the manager over to let them know we were still waiting. He checked with the kitchen and assured us only 5 more minutes. It took 30 minutes before we complained again and told them we were about to leave. Our food then magically arrived. For the price tag the food didn't measure up, even putting aside the delay. It is also extremely loud, even before the DJ started up. It's a beautiful restaurant but does not bring what a restaurant should bring: good food and good service.
I guess it’s fine. Rooms are small (which we knew going in). The dehumidifier in the room didn’t work well enough.
Our room was lot ready when we arrived. The guy said he’d call me when it was. He never did. When we went back he said “that’s my bad. I forgot” okaaaayyyy
Ran out of breakfast stuff within an hour
Fine for what they charge though.
Had the best experience at Ruschmeyers — The property is gorgeous, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Carlton was especially helpful and accomodating - will definitely be back!
Our stay at Ruschmeyer was incredible. The room was so cute and clean. Carlton was an fantastic host and so kind. Not only that, the food at the restaurant was perfect. Service was also top tier. I will definitely be going back!!!
If you're searching for a hotel or motel with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, your search ends here. The room provided everything we needed for a perfect getaway. I particularly loved the Byredo products in the restroom, adding a touch of luxury. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful; they even surprised me with a bottle of rosé for my birthday! The cherry on top was the availability of free bikes for us to explore the area. My husband and I will definitely be returning!
Firstly, the staff were very friendly and informative. They had a nice welcome note in the room which described the amenities. The hotel is also located in a very convenient spot between where we were headed (ferry) and downtown. The rooms were very nice and well-maintained. They had water and popcorn which was a nice touch. The coolest thing about the rooms is the door code to get in - meaning no key - which was super convenient. In saying that, the bathroom layout was on the smaller side — the door didn’t fully open or close without a big effort (and noise) which was very inconvenient- squeezing in and out.
Outside the rooms, the property was beautiful, and the outdoor patio area was a great spot to relax. They gave 2 free drink coupons which we used and sat in the very comfortable outdoor area - that had fire pits and couches and lots of seating. It was very serene.
The service was okay, but there were a few glitches that led to disappointments. We were really looking forward to the free s’mores kit they some of when checking in, but when we asked that evening, we were told they had no firewood and didn’t have the proper items to provide the kit. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was very underwhelming. They’d probably be better off dropping that as an amenity.
Overall, we really did enjoy our stay, but a few simple improvements in service and amenities would make a big difference.
Didn’t get to stay at the hotel or book it after having the most awkward weird conversation over the phone trying to get a price quote.
Asked for the available room price for a night, receptionist told me he had 3 different rooms available… crickets…. How about you TELL ME THE PRICE FOR A NIGHT, then more gibberish to the point I had to hang up because we started laughing at how nonsense the whole ordeal was. Also asked if an emotional support dog is considered service dog by them to which he replied “if service dogs are confidential?”, just absolutely nonsense please get someone with experience on a client facing role.

Best service and vibes
Had an amazing time on the Fourth of July with our friends. Great music, great staff, great vibes
Kat Woods was fantastic! We had a great time at the 4th pig roast.
We had a wonderful stay the weekend before the 4th of July. Despite us arriving very late due to travel delays, Ruschmeyers made sure we had a smooth check in process. The service was great and you can’t beat the location. We’ll definitely be back!
Kat and Ava were incredible on the 4th!! Couldn’t have asked for a better vibe. Low key and a great location. Enjoy!
