Miss the old original Gurney's corny Italian rococo decor that was a relief from the now ubiquitous “ zen”running to “ Amish “ look of un inviting plain colorless Uber simple gray fixtures. Looks as if it was decorated by Monks who have taken a vow of poverty. Art work is all black, gray and during late fall no view of gorgeous ocean after early sunset. No music either but the noise would drown it out anyway. Very pricey for teensy portions.

The thanksgiving menu for 150$ was not worth the price. Our main dish was not warm and the dessert was also below our expectations. Service was in addition not the best. Overall - when you have dinner at Gurneys you expect something special, but this dinner was nothing special at all and with that price not worth it.

Three staff is EXCELLENT!!! Everyone from the hostess, to the runners to the waiter, all fantastic! Food was VERY VERY good, great flavors. Some portions were good size, others need to be a little larger, especially based on price. Dessert, chocolate cake was Great. The alcoholic drinks are WAY TOO OVERPRICED. Would love to have had a second drink, not easy to expensive and not enough alcohol in the mixed drinks.

I had a 6:30 reservation for 2 ppl but were told our table wasn't ready. We weren't seated until 7:15 at a large table for 6 ppl. The hostess said “sorry about the large table, that's all we have available.” Why take reservations? The waiter asked if we would like to order any appetizers and I asked for the seared scallops which I've had there before and they are very good. He said “I'm sorry we just sold out!” So due to the late seating no scallops for you! Lol. I ordered the branzino which was a 1/2 of a half of fillet and was overcooked. The floor and seats were vibrating due to an event with a DJ in the room below us . I've eaten here many times and it's usually decent food, however, this was an off night.

If you want to be a high end restaurant you probably should start by having competent staff that's provides a dining experience worth the $500 meal. Not the first time we had a horrible experience with your service. Incompetent and needs a ton more training. Please retrain your staff and have them take a course and service and fine dining. Too many excellent food places to spend $500 to be served a meal with no plates and forks, bringing out 10 appetizers at once, had to wait so long for another drink the meal with over. Horrendeous experience!

For dinner, we enjoyed the pappardelle pasta, which was homemade and gluten-free, paired perfectly with the Palermo Old Fashioned cocktail. The short rib pasta was equally delicious, fresh, and packed with flavor. The combination of incredible food, amazing drinks, and the breathtaking setting made our night unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special, intimate dining experience in Montauk.

Everything was great except they forgot to put a candle in the desert even though we informed on the reservation that it was a birthday. We did the same thing there about one month ago and they did remember the candle. Great food, beautiful space, expensive but they deliver a great experience.

We come to Gurney's twice per year and always enjoy dinner at Scarpetta Beach restaurant. The bread basket includes delicious Stromboli. We always get the spaghetti with basil tomato sauce. The food is outstanding!! The service is great and the view and ambiance are special!!

While the hostess was lovely and accommodating , our waiters were un friendly and acted as tho they had somewhere else to be . Such a turn off when everything else was very nice and the food very good ! Our black cod was delicious the tuna souci appetizer also was a standout , even the Caesar salad very good . It's unfortunate that the waiter brought negativity to our evening with friends whom we brought from out of town So not necessary Susie mackenzie
