If you order a dish with scallops, ask for them to be well-seared or you will receive milky white scallops with minimal browning at the edges. The special pasta was good, but boxed penne does not have that elevated feel.. the herbed cream sauce was VERY watery... literally every bite was dripping/very viscous. I would expect fresh, house made pasta and at least a fine roux added to the sauce for the price charged on the special pasta. In general, this was a mid-tier dining experience despite the upscale look of the restaurant. Staff accommodated my request for a 1/2 portion of risotto, which we appreciated. The mushrooms were abundant and deliciously complemented the risotto, but I questioned if it was microwaved or heated on the stove (it was scalding hot with steam in the center, like when it's reheated/nuked). The breading was also not sticking to my husband's chicken cutlet... would rate the food a 6.7/10

Food and service always good Wish they were open on Wednesday and Thursday breakfast Many people who are traveling and not staying there look forward to a lunch/breakfast there instead of going down to that dinner

Unbelievable delicious food. Gourmet! Specialties last night were so good that we could taste the aroma all the way home.

Nice vibe of a Adirondack style lodge. Super friendly staff working hard to try to meet any needs that we had (for which we appreciated). The food itself was edible but had a lot of points where it fell flat. The sweet and sour tofu was a flop. The grilled trout was excellent but the ubiquitous saffron rice on most dishes was tasteless. The cheese plate was underwhelming and needed fancier presentation, higher quality crackes, and more than just three white cheeses.

Great food, large portions and outstanding service. We had an outside table with a view of the river. Nice nature sounds. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed sitting outside by the creek with our dog. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was 10/10. Our favorite was the warm apple crisp dessert! Looking forward to returning again.

No wifi in the outdoor deck. The best part of this place is the deck overlooking the creek and mountains. For months we have called attention to this problem with the staff who are just great in every way. But apparently the management can't be bothered to add a router to cover the dining room and deck. This is a high end spa and resort. What's the problem?

The setting is GORGEOUS! Right on the river & the staff was kind and helpful. Unfortunately the food was not great. Mushy rice, chewy over-cooked clams, dry fish that had a weird taste....i only took two bites. Dessert was very average “Applebees” level....the sundae had Hershey's syrup instead of hot fudge. Nothing special. Thank goodness the bread and butter were REALLY GOOD! I would have left hungry.

We had early reservations at 530p so we were one of two tables in the entire place. We opted for a high top table outside to look at the Espous Creek. Server was very attentive and brought us bread and water. Bread could've been warmed but not a deal breaker just an opinion. We started with a paloma (best one I've had made in awhile)& gin & tonic with the calamari appetizer. The calamari was delicious with nice light coating and cooked perfectly. We then had the Cavatelli Bolognese & Gulf Shrimp linguine. Shrimp were nice and big and cooked again perfectly. Sauce for the bolognese with ribeye was delicious. Overall I'd definitely go back again for a special occasion. We didn't take pics of the food or have dessert. Thanks for delicious birthday meal!

There were not more than 5 tables occupied with patrons in the entire restaurant, but a table with a mom & 3 small children was seated directly behind us and the “screeching” baby (in a high chair) changed the atmosphere from pleasant to unmanageable very quickly. The mom could have requested to be seated away from other folks, knowing that her adorable baby was a high-pitched-screecher!

Catamount is one of those spots that doesn’t blow your socks off but knows how to do comfort food very well. The menu is straightforward with few creative strokes but that is what I would expect when I went there. The vibes are perfect with high ceilings, plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor) and views of nature or the river depending on where you sit. The service was kind, patient and attentive. The food didn’t blow us away and would really have liked to see just a tiny bit more creativity than what was provided. Overall, I would recommend people to go here just to have a relaxing experience with simple comfort dishes.

This place is absolutely amazing. The ambiance the food and the fact they are dog friendly makes even more special for me with a dog menu.

If you're looking for a lovely scene of the country to have a relaxing dining experience, this is a fine place to satisfy those needs. Service was good, yet the waitress was seemingly a summer gig person - a little nervous and unsure. She tried. Food was good, yet somewhat nconsistent. My wife had trout which was just all right. For me the seafood pasta special with a great sauce, shrimp and sausage was perfect. Dessert was three scoops of vanilla ice cream in a bowl with some Hershey's chocolate sauce on top and a bit of whipped cream. I asked for nuts of some sort and that they brought in as an afterthought. It was called a Sunday. Overall, I would say yes, go. It is a bit high-priced. Two drinks, entrees, dessert including tip was $138 for two.
