If you're looking for a lovely scene of the country to have a relaxing dining experience, this is a fine place to satisfy those needs. Service was good, yet the waitress was seemingly a summer gig person - a little nervous and unsure. She tried. Food was good, yet somewhat nconsistent. My wife had trout which was just all right. Started with calamari, excellent. Short ribs and tofu dinners, delicious. Attentive server. Tammy, the bartender, rocks. Makes killer martini's, great conversation, and is a terrific host when eating at the bar.
Staying at the Emerson for a wedding weekend and decided to try The Catamount for dinner..... it was a really unique place in a good way. The food was outstanding and the service matched. Friendly atmosphere and tastefully decorated inside. I had the short rib dinner and substituted saffron rice for the mashed potatoes, which was excellent. A glass of cab franc to go with it topped it off. Dessert looked tempting but was stuffed from dinner.
