One of the best bars in the Valley, and they'll be leaving us shortly. Give them lots of business while they're still around to give them a reason to start again (hopefully in Kingston this time)

Food & cocktails were amazing as always- we take an hour drive up just to stop in and support! This trip up because I was pregnant I was super excited about the zero proof drink menu and wasn’t disappointed! I really appreciate there being non alcoholic cocktails that are sophisticated, flavorful, and beautiful! We were sad to discover they’re losing their current location due to the landlord, so if you’re reading this review before 9/30/23 and have never been definitely stop in - you won’t be disappointed!

I've had a lot of fun at a lot of bars, but my stop at Fuchsia was some of the most fun I can remember. Andrew the bartender was absolutely one of the coolest, most interesting bartenders I've met in a long time. Awesome atmosphere, too.

Hat tip to J for discovering Fuchsia. I was pretty skeptical about the legitimacy of a strip mall tiki bar this distant from an urban metropolis, but Fuchsia's not messing around. Caveat emptor: we had a substantial dinner beforehand, so I can only comment on the drinks. See elsewhere for opinions about food.First, let's acknowledge that the space is pretty tiny. We arrived on the early end (6pm-ish) on a torrentially rainy evening and had no problem being seated immediately. I recall seeing two four-tops and some bar seating. Maybe there was another two-top by the window? Regardless, don't plan on rollin' deep here. We witnessed a party of six try to squeeze themselves into a table. The staff did what they could to make it work, but it sure didn't look very comfortable to me.Too frequently, tiki bars play up the ambiance with voodoo masks, surfboards, and palm fronds. Fuchsia definitely offers some campy charm, but I especially appreciated that they don't skimp on their drinkware. You won't be served your libations in plastic Solo cups here -- one our party's beverage came with a flaming lime to toast marshmallows on; another's was served in a shell reminiscent of a Georgia O'Keeffe painting (if you get what I'm sayin'...).I suffered from an uncharacteristic bout of momentary indecision -- too many of the menu offerings sounded delectable. Conveniently, Fuchsia offers a "roll of the dice." Little did I grasp what this selection entailed. When I informed our server I'd take my chances, he ditched our table only to return shortly thereafter with a cup and literal set of dice. I proceeded to gamble my taste buds away and was rewarded with a mystery concoction featuring shaken whiskey with herbal notes. I couldn't tell you what was in it (and, apparently, neither could our server), but it was ineffably quaffable. All told, I'm pretty confident that this little hideaway could hold its own in NYC. With respect to its geography, Fuchsia far exceeds expectations.

I had an exceptional time at this bar. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and handed menus. The warm reception by the friendly bartenders set a positive tone. We indulged in two delightful drinks, each with its unique character. The swiftness with which our appetizers arrived after ordering was impressive, particularly the unexpectedly delightful spring rolls. The attentive bartenders ensured our comfort with frequent check-ins. The charming and snug ambiance of the place added to the overall experience. Without a doubt, we'll be returning for more memorable visits.

The drinks here are great! The tiki vibe of the space is amazing. It really is the perfect little escape. And the staff is very quick! I'll come back often

Fuchsia isn't just an exceptional tiki bar, it is a fun place to hang with rad staff and a sense of humor. Seriously huge rum selection, hand made orgeat and other syrups and tinctures, etc. Anton knows his craft and is admired and followed by others in the industry. It is a do-not-miss in the Hudson Valley for well balanced cocktails. Climb some cliffs, do some trail running, drink a Mai Tai or mocktail, eat some dumplings. What could be better?

This place is truly the bees' knees. Amazing drinks, ambiance, and service. We've been to tiki bars around the world, and would truly call it one of the best. The attention to detail is spectacular (icy cold glassware, comfy seats, drink strength menu descriptions). Would recommend this as a destination bar for anyone even remotely in the area.

No fuchsia. No tiki. Average Chinese food. Forgettable in every way except not being a tiki bar.

The venue is exactly as described online! We went to several venues throughout New Paltz, who we're okay-ish at best, some piano bar and then some beer hall for college kids it seems. These guys seem to be one of the few around town who know a good cocktail. The staff have intimate knowledge of spirits and flavor combinations and aren't afraid to drop serious knowledge.Apparently, their rum collection is the largest in NYS! That explains why they got a feature on CBS News which is how we found them! These guys went national and deserve more publicity for the work they do.June 2023 update:Been back to see Anton the owner who unfortunately wasn't in, but got phenomenal service from Andrew and Fran. Drinks were balanced and impeccable & service was top notch. There's a reason they're so well known in the cocktail community in NYC, I hope the locals know how lucky they are!

Love love love this place. Food is great, cocktails are fun, and the staff is super friendly. Stopped in and sat at the bar after a long hike/getting engaged and they treated us like old friends. Will be stopping here every time we’re in New Paltz.

Just went there after work today with a party of 8 and we had the best time! We were obnoxious and ordered drinks that weren't on the menu (even though they have a plethora of amazing drinks of the menu) and they were so accommodating and the drinks they made were amazing....we also ordered a bunch of food that came out so quickly and was delicious...had a great time food service and atmosphere was all fantastic! Bonus they were playing all my favorite 80s jams...can't wait to go back..so nice to have great food drinks and service everyone was a pleasure to work with!
