Had the best shrimp basket here!! The batter was lite and crunchy,the tarter was delicious!! Fried to perfection!! Casual dining, highly recommended

Ordered the crab cakes, blackened shrimp with veggies, grilled scallops with coleslaw and the fish and chips. Every. Single. Bite. Was. Perfectly. Seasoned. And. Prepared. To. Perfection. My. God. Soooooo tender, fresh and delicious. High quality, fresh seafood in a laid back environment. Whenever we hit the Orchards in the area we will not try any other restaurant now that we tried them. Completely forgot to take pics as we were starving.

I was craving fish 'n chips, and I have a route to bypass the traffic madness in New Paltz around lunchtime, so I thought, how about Gadaleto's? I have had fish 'n chips at a lot of places in Ulster County, and invariably, the fish is a rectangular hunk of something, breaded and flash frozen at some bulk food supplier. Not so with Gadaleto's. A fresh piece of fish, in a light batter, deep fried to flaky goodness. A pleasant surprise after so many disappointments.

The fries, well, not so much. Could have come from Burger King or some such, but the star of the platter was the fish. Smallish, very clean dining room with (my guess) 15 seats at 4 tops and 2 tops. Condiments, including malt vinegar, salt and pepper, in one serving packets on a counter with napkins and plasticware. Lunch, including a 20 ounce bottle of Pepsi was under $18.

Not a fancy lunch, but satisfying to have found the best fish 'n chips I have had in 30 years.

First time visit and totally thrilled! I had a wonderful lunch and also bought some fresh fish for the weekend. The cooks went out of their way to prepare the food to be gluten-free and even provided some substitute sides for no charge. Hidden gem seafood in New Paltz!

Fresh fish that you must pre-order and pay upon entering the restaurant, because they don't have table service.
The fish coming from their adjacent Fish Market is usually fresh.

Some of the best lobster I've ever had. They prepped it quickly, cut the tail and claws so it was easier to crack, and the herbed butter was perfect. Made a great birthday dinner back at our place

They always have the freshest fish and sea food. I got a bushel of clams for my party and they were exquisite.
