Smash burger is by far the best in town. Fries are very light in oil, sumac garlic mayo is a must with fries. Really good good!!!

The hand cut fries are absurdly good. Best I’ve had in a long time.

Really awesome food!! Grilled chicken wrap was super tasty and fresh! I will be hitting this spot weekly for sure. Great addition to New Paltz!!

Absolutely phenomenal food. Grabbed the grilled chicken wrap. The sauces are amazing. Cannot wait to grab another one! The fries were perfect. And stayed crispy all the way to my house. Id give em 10 stars if that was an option.

Stopped by here after climbing at the gunks, and I'm glad we found the place. To be honest I was just really hungry and looking for anything quick and easy, but this food was actually really amazing! The fries were perfectly cooked and their gyro was on point. This will be my new go to place after climbing.

I ordered a small fries fur $4 today and literally counted out 12 fries and a few crumbs. I should have said something but I didn't because I was with people. Very disappointing. The place that was there before gave me triple the amount .

Amazing place! Super good fast food made with high quality ingredients, a cute interior design, and very friendly owners. Highly recommend that you stop by if you’re in the area.

Johnnie's food is AWESOME! He is obviously a "Foodie" who cares about the food he serves. I eat there all the time and the food (which are generally very large portions) are always perfectly cooked and spiced! Can't recommend enough!!

This place is amazing! I stopped by here after hiking with my boyfriend because I wanted to check out Waterstreet Market in New Paltz. The place itself is small, but we loved that it was cozy and we had the experience of watching John, the cook and owner of the Food Shack, prepare our food right in front of us! We got the Falafel platter, Classic Gyro, Hot dog, and Istanbul Fries and my goodness...they were all so amazing. Especially the Falafel and the fries, they were to die for. Johnny was very friendly and made sure we were enjoying our food despite there being 2 other customers behind us. We had a great time, great food with a great chef! We will be back with friends next time. Thank you John! :)

Johnny’s Food Shack is truly a hidden gem in the town of New Paltz. If you’re looking for a quick and tasty meal, this is the place for you. Johnny has a good selection of Mediterranean foods as well as hot dogs and fries with a unique twist. He's very kind and cares about the food he serves. Don’t hesitate to stop by!

Having grown up in NYC, I've had my fair share of Mediterranean food so I was shocked to see how good the Falafels were! The hints of Turkish cuisine from the Istanbul fries to the fabulous gyro and Baskhan hot dog were delicious as well. Everything is managed and run my John, the owner and he takes great pride and care in the food he serves. If you're in the New Paltz area and craving good quick food make sure to stop by.Unexpectedly, the french fries were some of the best I've ever had. They're thick, hand cut and super crispy on the outside while being soft and creamy on the inside. In a way, they're the fries that Five Guys always wanted but could never deliver.
