This place is overpriced and the store ambiance isn't really what I thought it would be. Staff has Attitude, creating a non-welcoming atmosphere. They should be more open and friendly, excited to interact with customers.

We got 8 little chocolates and a mint ice cream sandwich shared among three of us. Everything was unique, delicious, and thoroughly enjoyed.Except for the matzah, everything is made without gluten— and, from what an employee told us, that’s seasonal. So relatively safe to eat here if you have Celiac Disease. It WAS more pricey than we expected (now we know about the sourcing and reason for expense), but a total treat for a special occasion.

Amazing vegan chocolate! Their peanut butter cups are exquisite!

Okay, honestly this is the BEST! We love their products and love that it's all vegan, because good chocolate should be good to the world, not just our hearts. Whenever we're in NY, we stop by the store on 9th Ave and stock up. Our motto while were there is: "This is not the time to be cheap." When we're home in CA, we order online and can hardly wait for it to arrive. Support this place, you will not regret it. We are particularly in love with: Rosemary Sea Salt Caramels & Thyme, Preserved Lemon Sea Salt Caramels but if anyone wants to send us any of the others, we're here.

A bit pricey, but it is to be expected given the vegan ingredients. This place was lovely and the staff was great. I will stop here every time I am in the area

This chocolate shop is so good! I am a baker at a vegan bakery and I was introduced to Lagusta's Luscious by my boss who had a copy of the book. I was visiting friends in the Hudson valley and we made a special trip to New Paltz to check out this shop. The chocolate is so delicious, some of my favorite fillings I have ever had, vegan or not. The shop is super cute, I love their signage and branding and they have a lot of variety and everything I tried I love. It's not easy to make such a great product 100% vegan also being mindful of sustainability and ethical sourcing and business practices. Bravo!

PLEASE NOTE: This was for nationwide shipping. I found Lagusta's on a list of vegan businesses that ship, and - being honest here - what caught my attention was the Furious Vulva Bonbons (a bittersweet chocolate shaped vulva with pink peppercorns and Hawaiian pink sea salt). I didn't buy them, but trust me - I'm going to. What I did buy was the winter seasonal collection called The Citrus Box. It came with 3 each of the: Thyme Preserved Lemon Sea Salt Caramels, Preserved Orange Caramels, Ginger Orange Cashew Meltaways, Yuzu Cashew Cream Bonbons, and Grapefruit Lime Patties. Personally, I thought both the caramels tasted exactly the same and I couldn't taste any ginger in the meltaway. However, the Grapefruit Lime Patties were DIVINE. Could. Not. Stop. Eating. I wished they all had that level of citrus flavoring to them. The cashew cream bonbons were my second favorite, and part of that was the luscious texture of the interior. Finally: the maple honeycomb? I lived in England and loved a good Cadbury Crunchie, but a) haven't found anything quite like it since moving back to New England, and/or b) haven't found anything vegan. So - THANK YOU - Lagusta's for bringing this treat back into my life. It with a cuppa? Chef's kiss. Regarding pricing: it's $7 for the honeycomb (totally worth it for the bag you get), $35 for The Citrus Box, and $14.90 for shipping. I appreciate they ship nationally, and I would definitely check them out in person if I was ever in the area. And I will absolutely buy from them again (and probably buy gifts for friends too)!!!

This is my absolute favorite chocolate shop I have ever been to... and I've never been. I started purchasing online from Lagusta shortly after her and Maresa started their wonderful businesses together. I adore both them and their products. Truly ethical and always supreme quality. My husband is always blown away by the complexities of flavors and lack of saccharine sweetness that is common in too many chocolates. I love Lagusta's. Her staff in New Paltz are doing a pristine job, and I'm sure she's killing it at Commissary.

Went recently after visiting lagusta luscious commissary and all the chocolate I picked out was delicious. My fiance also has really enjoyed his citrus chocolate box I ordered from them especially the grapefruit lime patties. Will definitely visit again!!

The food and chocolates are amazing. However, the way you treat your employees is disgusting. I don’t think it’s cool to describe yourself as an ethical establishment when you pay minimum wage which isn’t livable whatsoever. Yikes!

So many ethical options! Great staff and environment!

This is some of the best chocolate I've ever had. The selection is wide, with more traditional favorites and also innovative combinations like pink peppercorns, earl gray caramel, tahini meltaways, and many many more. You can pick up a pre-packaged box, or choose by the piece. I like to stop in with my little niece and let her pick one for a treat. Also, in the warm months the ice cream bars and sandwiches are incredible.
