The New Paltz Bagel Cafe offers a delightful breakfast experience with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Freshly toasted bagels are served with high-quality ingredients, such as nova lox, cream cheese, and capers. The cafe's friendly and attentive staff create a welcoming environment, making guests feel at home. Vegetarian options are available, including bagels. The bagels are often described as elite level and perfectly baked soft, with eggs that are not runny but hardly dry, demonstrating perfect execution. Customers frequently visit and find the service quicker than expected, with some calling ahead to reduce wait times. The cafe is very popular and often packed, especially on weekends, which is seen as a good sign. It is cash-only, so visitors should bring cash or use the ATM. The cafe is known for its delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sesame bagel sandwich, and the fresh and perfectly sliced nova lox. Customers travel from nearby towns to enjoy the exceptional bagels that cannot be found elsewhere in the area. The only downside is the lack of a proper vent system, which can make the air inside the cafe uncomfortable at times.
