Wow so this was a disappointing birthday dinner. We got here, excited for Indian food because the reviews were good. I made reservations prior too and we showed up exactly on time. We had babies that were past their bedtime too, so we were antsy and hungry to eat and be on our merry way.Well we sat down and were not handed a menu until I finally asked about 10-15 minutes later, and it took almost 35-40min until they actually took our order, after I asked twice for someone to do it. Food wasn’t served until 1hr and 10minutes in. And by this point one child was really loosing it because of how late it had gotten (we were hoping to be packing up by now and we were only now getting to eat).In their defense the restaurant was busy in the beginning, but most everyone had their food by the time we arrived and then had left before they got to us. The restaurant owner lady was also pretty rude and harsh when dealing with us when she finally placed our order. We didn’t leave there until 2 hours later (again because getting the bill etc took longer than expected). And my baby had a screaming session the rest of the night because he was wayyy past his bedtime, our own fault for celebrating a new mamas birthday for dinner I suppose..It sucks because for me the food wasn’t bad, but my family wasn’t impressed tonight by the service or the taste. I would have came back, because the prices are decent, but I was pretty turned off by the owner and people working there. I’ll just stick with Thai food up the street instead :(

The food was decent.A man kept staring at us, waiting impatiently for us to leave. We were there to talk, ordered a bunch of food, and chilled for an hour and a half all together. After 30 minutes, he kept putting more and more pressure on us to go.He literally started wiping the table and clearing away dishes all around us. This little man was at our table no less than 20 times. Finally, I said... "it feels like you want us to leave." he said, "yes."I just cracked up... And continued my conversation. We weren't loud. We weren't throwing food. In fact, I had laryngitis, so I was literally whispering! I mean my friend is clumsy and spilled some sauce on the table.. But sheesh!Oh-the place was essentially empty. We were there a really long time, so we saw a few different people come and go, but there were never more than three tables with people at them at any one time. The vast vast majority of their tables were empty the whole time.I could have dropped my $75 anywhere in New Paltz. I'm never giving these people my money again

The best Indian food I have ever tasted. Lamb Tika marsala was cooked perfectly. Somosas are homemade. Kind staff. You can tell these chefs have passion.

Well, service miserably slow after 10 min wait in empty restaurant. Waiters like zombies. Afraid to even try the food. Place is like just strange. Never experienced such hostile and yet despondent service.

Great food! Affordable prices! Fast and friendly, attentive service in a simple clean and quiet space. Family owned. Surprised it is not more crowded. A hidden gem of place. Our favorite place in New Paltz.

Absolutely top quality Indian food and service. Thanks for sticking with this community for so many years, we are lucky to have you. I had the Chicken Tikka Massala and it may be the best one I have ever had, with something a little different that I cant pinpoint but certainly appreciate.

We had takeout from this spot and everything was delicious! Food was ready in a timely fashion and the staff was very friendly when we came by to pick it up. Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Tikka Masala, Vegetable Simosas, Chana Bhaji and garlic naan and we loved it all!

Cant rave enough about the lamb tikka, chicken korma and tikka masala. Of the many indian places I go in the Hudson Valley, this is my favorite. Nice folks serving. Not lavish. Just awesome.

While waiting for food, a baby roach visited us. Pic of dead roach attached.

I am not from the area and perhaps I'm too use to NYC service. They were not fast and we waited a long time for the food. I dont think its that sanitary either. A roach crawled on the table and I found a hair in my food.

First the Ambience. I did not dine in but the place looks clean and inviting. Service - Quick and efficient. (5/5) Food. Sadly unpalatable. I had high hopes. I ordered - Garlic Naan - Too much garlic but was soft and spongy. (2/5) Kofta (Veg) - For some reason they had nothing but broccoli in there. No one spends 50 dollars to buy food at a restaurant just to eat broccoli. (0/5) Bombay Potatoes - Potatoes weren't cooked. The dish itself is inspired but could be better. (1/5) Veg Biryani - A bit of saving grace. (3/5) They also gave me a huge bowl of free Basmati rice. Most restaurants do with their entrees. Again, this had bits of carrots and celery!!! Funny. Restaurant isn't even listed as a health food niche! (3/5 for quantity) I rarely review food. We ear out a lot. I felt like this might help vegetarians looking for the next best place. If you like broccoli this is the place for you.

Sorry but save yourself and go somewhere else. We would've been happier with frozen Indian from the grocery store. Barely any paneer and huge onions in the mattar paneer. Chana shaag was better but it was all way too oily - couldn't get the oil off the dishes we used at home (takeout). If you live in NYC like us you probably have much better standards.
