NON MALE FRIENDLY PLACE. Ive gone to this place multiple times and every time I walk in I give a smile and in return I get a dirty look I dont know why. I dont order food anymore because its not worth the service, i just go to pick up orders. The service is horrible. One order i picked up here there were 4 servers and one older lady. none of the servers greeted me just get a quick glance as i was standing by the register, they all ignored me and served other customers. finally after about 10 minutes the older lady came over and just said "what are you here for" I said Im here for a pick up again she said " okay, what are you here for". her demeanor was like she doesnt like you. very rude. The last pick up I did there was no body in the place and 2 servers, again I walked in with a smile and in return I got a quick dirty look and no greeting.. I walked to the register and the 2 servers ignored me. after about 5 minutes one server started to walk over but then turned back around to continue to talk to the other server. 2 minutes later she turns back around comes over and just says "Hi".. Im the only one there mind you.. This is the service I get ever time I go here. You figure a woman ran business it would be more friendly and inviting.. Wrong.

As others have said service was lousy , 4 people behind the counter ( maybe there are 2 lines - unsure ) 1st woman was scatterbrained and asked another blonde to help me . Mid 20s blonde long hair came over “you been helped ?? “. I just wanted a quarter pound of rainbow cookies since the the cake box in Kingston just closed . She prepares a box and said “this is a quarter pound , do you want a box or bag”. Box was already made so a box is fine but normally bag is ok w me. I think she was angry she made the box w out asking.Rainbow cookies were 100% average, looked identical to the ones ShopRite sells. Nothing to write home about. Then she pointed to the credit card machine but I had cash ( it was $5) I’m guessing she wanted a tip on the card. Here’s a tip to the owner — your staff sucks1st and last. Nothing extraordinary , I’d recommend to locals just go to ShopRite

I was a little disappointed by the brownies I got here. They tasted like cardboard sprinkled with cocoa powder. They looked fudgey and sweet but tasted nothing like what they looked like. The staff were friendly and the upstairs has many tables in a diner-booth style. I'll try another baked-good next time and hopefully, I can change my rating.

Fantastic veggie chili (I wish they still had it every day in the winter like they used to) and great chicken salad. The chocolate Velvet Torte is a holiday favorite. My wife used to love the veggie reuben, but she has been consistently disappointed with them in the last year or so. The bagels are atypical, but quite good...except when they are not. Sometimes, they taste completely different. More like regular bread (no barely malt?). Today, the bagel was so overcooked - very hard. The staff is very friendly, but I'm sorry to say they make a fair amount of mistakes. Not toasting bread, multi grain bagel instead of regular, etc.

Such a cute spot! Located right by all the local shops. Tons of sweet treats to choose from and their hot breakfast options and coffee menu were amazing. They have a super cute upper level with seating and tons of windows so you can enjoy your treats and chat. Will definitely be back!

Today is the day that we decided we'll never return to The Bakery, after years. The food is ok, can't complain about that. However, they are always disorganized and slow, the worst part is the defensive and argumentative staff today when we brought a simple oversight to her attention, her unapologetic and confrontational response was shocking. A simple acknowledgement of the inconvenience would have sufficed. We didn't need any compensation or anything like that. There are place to go in town, and sadly I made the wrong choice today and somehow had to deal with a "I am right and you are wrong, so there it is" attitude from the counter staff. The bakery is a long standing local business that we supported, but this kind of behavior should not be encouraged.

Fresh baked goods. My favorite bagels in New Paltz. Cappuccino's are quite good as well. Outdoor seating and convenient location. Pets welcome outside. Friendly staff.

I feel like the food would taste better if they had a grill instead of 2 microwaves. The everything-bagels they had out were incredibly small and dry, and the wait time is too long for a simple breakfast food. All of this also overpriced as well! Looks like it can be a really great, cozy spot if things were done better.

I love this place! Good food, friendly staff, nice environment to work or study above the shop. They have great bagel, rugelach, and croissant and well as other pastries!
