Food quality and authenticity are far from when the restaurant started years ago. The 三杯鸡 is dry and tastes nothing remotely close to the original dish. Also Dey and overcooked. The other dishes are overly salty and cater to the western palette.
Your wallet won't complain. The staff displays remarkable kindness. 886 delivers a complete package - great dishes, beautiful surroundings, perfect ambiance, and excellent service. The menu promises more than it delivers. I'd come back without hesitation.
Smallish restaurant. Prices are reasonable for Manhattan standards. Not overly crowded for a weekend dinner. Young crowd. Service is quick.
Popcorn chicken - a must-order. Each piece was a good size. Crispy crunchy exterior and moist tender interior. So good with the sweet chili sauce.
Lo ba beng - lava egg is on point. Rice is flavorful (I like mine heavily sauced) and meat complemented the rice well. Pickled vegetables was okay.
