Abastos is a complete store full of Mexican products in the heart of Harlem, offering a phenomenal variety. It is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican street food, including some of the best quick tacos in Manhattan. The tacos, especially the pastor, steak, and chorizo, are excellent and yum, with a fantastically balanced and authentic flavor. The meat is salted very well and the salsas have great bite without being too spicy. They offer a great deal of 3 large tacos for $10 or $12, which is an amazing price. The service is excellent, attentive, accommodating, timely, and polite. The staff is willing to go above and beyond to help customers. It is a convenient take-away spot, good for late nights, with options to call in, pick up, or order online. The store also carries mixed Mexican snacks, sodas, convenient stuff, and lots of rare-to-find Mexican candy. They make their own tortillas by hand, which are super fresh. It is definitely a little gem and a classic street food staple that customers keep going back to.
