I came here while visiting New York. It’s like any other dive at first glance, but what sets Ace apart is the kindness of the staff. The bartenders and bouncers go the extra mile here to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. I’ll be recommending Ace to all my friends.
As the bouncer kicks out the single women and leaves the people he knows inside with favoritism. I only recommend this place with Caution. The bouncer has an entitled attitude that warrants him nothing. He allows people to stay in the bar as an act of preference “within the industry” and risks the visitors safety by kicking them out side while others are yet still able to sit that finishing their own alcohol beverages. Men’s restroom is single use but does not have a lock. The bartenders appear to be aware of this fact. When asked about the danger this poses to a (hypothetical) toilet user, they questioned why the (again, purely hypothetical) toilet user did not relieve himself prior to arriving at the bar.
