Our server Devrim was very friendly and his suggestions were all delicious. Especially the manti was amazing. Couldn’t be happier that we stopped by to dine at AKDENIZ.

Hands down the best Turkish food in NYC. The owner-operator, Mike, is always on-site, adding a personal touch that makes the experience feel both welcoming and elevated. The food is clean, healthy, and notably free of seed oils — a rare and refreshing standard. The chicken chops are excellent, the chicken shish is top-tier, and the mezze selection is absolutely fantastic. Every dish reflects real care and quality.

I went to get Turkish dessert it was good and delicious, the stuff was friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended.
The experience there was very nice, I would recommend the Lamb Adana, which is very savory. Service at Akdeniz is warm and attentive. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the food they serve. They’re happy to offer recommendations, which adds to the overall experience at the place.

There is no attention at all, the food is not good, the service is not good at all, if you respect yourself you should not eat here

I had their puree of lentil soup, which was pleasing. For my main course I had their mixed meze platter. It included four of them including hummus, eggplant, a yogurt mixture, and baba ganouch. They offer five meze, but I chose to skip the spicy one in favor of more baba ganouch, which was my favorite, and what I thought was the most flavorful of the four. The back part of
the restaurant was the most attractive, as seen in my
picture of it.
On another dine there I had a single order of baba ganouch ($11) which was followed by my main course of Turkish meatballs ($25). They are a combination of lamb and beef which was moist, tasty and delicious. On another visit there, a Sunday, the meatballs were overly salty and a little burned (blackened). The menu does not state that the meatballs come with two vegetables. Since they do, the waiter should have the courtesy to state that it comes with two vegetables and offer an alternative if you desire. My waiter did not do that, he just brought out two accompanying vegetables of the kitchen's choice. I tried their Lamb Adana on another visit there, it was spicy. I do not care for spicy food. Their gyro was bland and very dry.

Mixed feelings. Service and space is great.
The avocado salad was fantastic
Calamari was good but fried in what seemed like old oil
Our entrees were okay, chicken shish kebab, chopped chicken, lamb
Overall I think you can find much better Turkish food in the city

It offers not only Turkish food but also a great selection of Mediterranean cuisine. Anyone looking for a delicious meal should definitely stop by. We tried five different dishes, and of course the appetizers, they were all fantastic.
