I had an absolutely terrible experience at Al Badawi. I was served burnt meat and vegetables — not just overcooked, but completely charred and inedible. It's unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that claims to serve quality food.
Not only was the food awful, but there was zero accountability. No apology, no replacement, nothing. Just a plate of burnt food and indifference.
Save your time and money — this place clearly doesn't care about its customers...read full review

Al Badalwi offers a warm and inviting dining experience in New York, with a cozy atmosphere enhanced by murals, greenery, and fun wall art. The restaurant's outdoor heated sidewalk seating allows guests to enjoy their meals while watching the bustling city. The service team is attentive, especially during busy hours, and shows genuine care by remaking orders when needed, reflecting their pride in serving quality food.
The food is a highlight, with generous portions often leaving diners with leftovers. Guests can start with dishes like Baba Ghanoush and Salata bi Tahina, which excite the palate. The Falafel Platter is well-loved for its perfectly spiced falafel and fresh salad drizzled with pomegranate molasses dressing. The salmon kebab and mezze platter are also popular choices, though some found the hummus grainy. The flatbreads are a favorite, especially the chicken one, and the Mezze Filistini is large enough to feed a group. Halloumi is recommended for sharing as well.
Desserts like mint tea and baklava are exceptional, with the tea described as bright and flavorful, setting a new standard. The restaurant also features Middle Eastern music that adds to the lively atmosphere. Overall, Al Badalwi is known for its delicious food, inviting ambiance, and attentive service, making it a must-visit in New York. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages to enhance their experience.
