The feeling is like staying in an old "salsamenteria" in Florence. It's all very simple and authentic and the food is excellent ?

Truly excellent Italian sandwiches. Massive servings. Each sandwich can easily feed two…but when it’s this good, sharing may not be an option.

Witnessed an employee verbally attack my brother with racial slurs for no apparent reason. He was waiting outside, and the employee came outside just to yell at him. Unacceptable.

Insane that in this day and age, an employee comes out to throw racial slurs while we’re waiting outside for friends. Do the world a favor and close your shop

Didn’t even get a chance to eat here but I was waiting outside for my friends for like 10 minutes and a worker? Owner? Comes outside and starts yelling racial slurs telling me to get lost and I’m lucky he doesn’t spit on me. So lost at what in the world just

You could be having the worst day of your life and I guarantee you will still walk out of here with a smile. Everything from the freshness and quality of ingredients to the positive and inviting energy of the employees has kept me coming over and over. Thank you all for bringing Italy to New York !!

Your 60th street location needs better training. I just walked out as I asked for a summer with Salami as well and she claimed they can't do it. I then said I would pay extra as I have done ordering online and she said she couldn't. When I said forget it and walked out she gave me a dirty look. On your website it literally says $4 for add on so clearly you can do it. Just laziness

People who already tried the original sandwich in Italy will be really really disappointed with this one… First photo NYC, second one from Florence. The quality of the products are indeed very good but they are lacking on the ingredients here. I don’t know if the staff are trained to make the sandwiches like this or if they really don’t know the proper way (if there’s one). I guess I’ll have to go back to Italy to eat a good one.

Not as great as all the hype. Line was 20 deep out side but moved fast 30 mins out the door, but very good and great for lunch in Central Park .

The first time we visited, we had the Real Veal Deal sandwich - which was incredible. The second time, we tried Matteo’s favorite sandwich - which is not on the menu and it was mind blowing! If Matteo is the behind counter, ask him to make you his favorite sandwich. You won’t be disappointed.
