Allora was a perfect choice for a business lunch at a location very close to our office. Ben was amazing at describing the specials and making sure everything was to our liking. We were originally supposed to sit on rooftop - but it was too hot that day and Ben was able to seat us inside in the comfortable air conditioned dining room. The food was enjoyed by all and we will definitely plan to return in the future, as well as recommend Allora to our colleagues.
Food is great. The octopus special was amazing. Very classy restaurant. The service was superior and I strongly recommend this spot. I have stayed at the hotel attached and would visit daily to get food or enjoy a drink. Camila is amazing and so friendly while handling business at the bar. With all of the great options for food in Midtown Manhattan, I still find myself eating here regularly for the food and the staff.

Food was fine but not special in any material way. Had the short rib ravioli special. Sauce was thick and some kind of beef jus turned into a thicker nearly glaze with a hint of raisin. The sauce was the highlight of an otherwise fairly bland ravioli. The caprese appetizer - I forgot how thick a beefsteak tomato could be and too firm for this form of light appetizer. The buffalo mozzarella was also drier and more firm than creamy. The whole thing would have benefitted from olive oil and balsamic drizzle. And basil. Needed any basil.
Service was friendly if not overly loud and repetitive in response to any question but that was part of the charm of the service.

Spectacular food, I had a veal meatball, bolognase with bucatini which was possibly the best pasta dish ever. Maitre d was informative, attentive and wonderfully amusing without being at all intrusive. Made my wife's request for mixing and matching from the menu seem like a pleasure. A classic small NYC GEM!!!
The Chilean Sea Bass was incredible as were the appetizers: classic fantastic New York food.
Service was unique. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable, but the rest of the wait staff struggled.
Ambiance was good, but nothing special.

(I don’t think there’s any warmth to the hospitality here tbh, but not a big deal.) The real problem though is that they factor in an 20% for “tips” fine print on menu! Things here are definitely wildly priced up after taxes & “tips”. We’re talking about *two drinks and a simple plate of say bagel or toast* coming out to $40-$50 total. And then the audacity to add yet ANOTHER tip line for people who don’t look & double tip is crazy. It’s so predatory. Makes sense why the place is seemingly empty often times.

First class Italian restaurant, with handsome, fashionable decor and a comfortable upscale vibe. Service was very capable, attentive and friendly. The cuisine was sublime. I had the best ribeye steak I've tasted in years, and the fish and pasta entrees my companions had were also flavorful and perfectly prepared and presented. A great experience.
We met early at 5:15 for our dinner and were happily surprised that it was very quiet and we would be able to chat easily to catch up with each other. We have been friends since childhood and it has been too long since we had a chance to meet with each other and just hang out together since we live in different states now. The food and the service were fabulous and the menu was extensive. The prices were, as in almost all NYC restaurants, not inexpensive and they had a nice selection of wines by the glass to choose from. The dessert was also delicious that we shared. I definitely recommend this place and I was surprised it wasn't busy for the 2 hours we were there. The portions were fairly large too. Neither of us could finish our main courses. I'm glad it wasn't busy when we were there, but a bit surprised, although it is summertime and a lot of regulars were probably away for Father's Day weekend or traveling.
Dined at this restaurant in New York at the recommendation of the hotel. Made our reservation for shortly after we'd come out of a theater production. It was the night of the Tonys and every place was booked. Arrived at the restaurant and, with the exception of the bar area, it was empty. We were seated immediately. Water was poured, wine list was presented, bread delivered and small plates of appetizers (we didn't order) arrived. All so fast it might make your head spin. I asked about the delivered apps. The response was in such a thick accent, I couldn't understand although we deduced they were gratis. The primary server hovered to take our order. We reviewed the menu and felt rushed to decide. Got our ordered placed. Then, as two in our party were sitting on the side of the walking aisle, they were asked to scoot in tightly to the table so a sofa could be brought through from another section. Not sure why this had to be done right then or why it could not have been done prior to opening. It was a very tight squeeze and obviously very heavy for the two employees doing the moving. Immediately after, our dinners were served. The lobster bisque was delicious. Lots of lobster. Entrees were okay. Presentation was nice. My steak was tasteless, very hard to cut (medium-rare) and needed seasoning. Risotto was good. Don't recall what everyone ordered and there weren't any rave remarks. Servers hovered all the time. Water glasses were refilled too often. Servers were at the ready to clear our plates immediately, asking if we were done. We were asked if we wanted dessert. We declined. And then, the check didn't come. Typical to an Italian establishment, we had to, finally, request the check. It was quite expensive for the rushed experience and overall quality of the food. In the time we were there, only three other tables were sat. One finished and left faster than we did.

Lovely setting, professional and attentive service. But the food was very disappointing. The caprese's mozzarella was lovely but served on a completely unripe (crunchy) tomato. My pasta - their special long bucatini - was prepared with basic vegetables and tasteless 'sauce'. The tiramisu for dessert was great. The wine list was extensive but very pricey as was the wine list by the glass.

Wonderful place. Service is superb! Food is excellent - they went over the top in hospitality!
If there were 10 stars this place would get it from me. This is a clearly a well trained staff which cares about customer experience...very impressed. The quality of the food and drink was par excellent and priced well too. We will definitely recommend it to all family and friends visiting the midtown east neighborhood for a wonderful meal and experience to remember!
Elio and his son Benny always ensure an enjoyable experience! I have been coming here for years to savor the 30' pasta and mini meatballs! Top NYC Italian restaurant- You better believe it! All the best, Jeff
