The staff was amazing, drinks were on point, but we didn't try any food. Definitely stay here the next time you are visiting Harlem.

Enjoyed our meet up at the hotel, Kool vibe, clean and welcoming. Only issue was the air conditioning or lack there of. Spent two hours in the event space and had a great time despite ot being a bit warm..

We love staying here! It’s close to our daughters dorms. Very clean rooms and building. There is enough space and nice bathroom for a reasonable price in lovely Harlem!
Really comfortable hotel. The room is big, decor is quit updated, the bed is really comfortable. The little vending space ate the lobby is very convenient. The gym is ok, nice equipments. I was there to attend a course at Columbia Business School, and the location was perfect, walking distance (about 15 min walk). Many options of public transport nearby (Subway A and C 1 block away, Subways 2 and 3 2 blocks away). Staff was really friendly and helpful. The only thing is that the shower pressure could be better, but that is just a detail.
My child and I stayed here while visiting Columbia for a college tour. The room was relatively small, as expected for NYC, but clean and fine. It was a little more of a walk than we wanted every day, but walkable. Sometimes we took a Lyft. We didn’t try any of the food options at the hotel. It was a fine stay. No complaints about the hotel. (We didn’t have a car with us so I can’t speak to parking.)
We booked a 3 night stay in a king bed. Ambassador status recognition is typically minimal at this brand as there aren't any real upgrades, but you do receive a $10 breakfast voucher per person, per day. They also honored our preferences of being on a high floor and away from the elevators. The front desk was very friendly and we found the service to be great throughout our stay. Also housekeeping came daily and did a good job. None of the rooms have views, ours faced a brick wall. The room itself is in need of a refresh soon as it's started to feel worn out. The biggest negative for us was the air-conditioner vents were positioned at the foot of the bed which meant that while we were sleeping they blew right on us all night. It was uncomfortable to have air blowing on us all night so we'd go out to dinner in the evening and turn down the air to cool the room off and sleep without the AC on. It seemed to work but wasn't ideal as NYC can be muggy in the summer. I couldn't imagine if it was winter and to have heat blowing on you all night. The internet was fast and reliable. There was a long desk against the wall so we could both have a workspace with one person using a computer chair and for the second person using a stool that was in the room.
Stayed here without expecting much but to my surprise it was a very nice hotel, , helpful staffs right from checking-in up until when I left… Front desk is very help with directions on how to travel plus very friendly set of people… is a small place and a bit hidden but with kind people working there, very neat and modern room and also stylish… nothing to complain.❤️
My stay at this Aloft location was driven by logistical convenience for the following day's tour at Columbia University for my 16 year old daughter. I can't say enough how accommodating and friendly the staff was. From water refills, to upgraded room, late check out, extra room keys (that my 11 year old son kept losing despite attempted responsibility opportunity)... the accommodations were clean and comfortable but the people makes this spot 200% unique. Manager Maya and Isis at the front desk could not have made us feel more welcome. Bartender Sequoia was super attentive while mom here enjoyed a glass of wine while the kids did up some card games and pool in the lobby -my son was stoked about the pool table! Overall, we vibed with the energy, atmosphere, and people driving this boutique! Unreservedly recommend!

Bar tender too busy on her phone to offer anything. Not friendly at all. Couldn’t help us and had no interest in doing so. Just not at all worth stopping here.
A bit pricey but very clean . Quiet at all times and a nice sitting area with a bar in the lobby. I will return there. Easy handicapped entrance for me to use. The room was in my son’s name since he made the Res. In his name.
Can’t understand better ratings. The neighborhood is one thing (wouldn’t recommend women traveling alone to stay here) but comfort and cleanliness is another issue this hotel suffers. For these prices it is unworthy to receive more than 2 stars. The rooms are unclean and outdated already, there are stains on the wall and everything we’ve touched is broken or messy.
