Awesome cocktails. Pricey and gets crowded. Fun spot though.

Nice cocktails and service. But the music is too loud, not a speakeasy. Not good to chill if you wanna talking drinking. Also the area seems not really safe

I have been coming here since they opened and were pretty much a secret. They used to be great! I still love the people that work there and the atmosphere; however, they now have a very rude bouncer in front of the door who is accusatory and inflammatory wielding his dominance over others in a very rude manner. For a place that on average charges $20 a drink and then puts 20% tip automatically on the bill without asking, I'd expect the doorman to be polite and professional. Last night the 5th of January 2026 will be the last time I will step foot in this establishment while that man is out front. There are other places in town that are equally nice without rude people blocking your entrance. I'm in Chinatown frequently I will keep an eye on this place and I will update this review after he is gone forever.
If you want equally nice 'speakeasies' with kitchy drink menus and atmospheres, reach out to me privately and I'll send you a list of a few in Manhattan.

Good vibes late at night. Music, dancing, cozy and dark, couches to lounge.

get there before the rush!!
we arrived for the 6:30 opening and got a good 1hr plus before the club vibes showed up.
the mezcal drinks are so good, especially the ‘paid vacation’ that’s not on the menu!!

One of the better cocktail bars in nyc. No reservations, so be prepared to wait.

Litteraly top 5 cocktails in the city, but they seriously need to keep the music below ear plug levels. Its always great atmosphere earlier in the night, but then they crank the music around 8 and everyone leaves because its not even possible to talk. Im sorry, but if I wanted to be at a club, I would go to one.

Lovely cocktail bar in the heart of Chinatown. It's one of those special new york city places that you have to try at least once. Good drinks cool atmosphere. Service impeccable.

The bouncers didn’t let in my boyfriend because there was a dress code which is fine, but then they proceeded to MAKE FUN OF HIS SHOES IN FRONT OF US???
I used to bring visitors to this spot for the few drinks that were good and the aesthetic inside but this was crazy - not coming back here.

Apotheke in Chinatown has such an intimate, cozy vibe - the perfect hidden gem for a night out. The cocktails were absolutely amazing - creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch too - attentive without being overbearing. I loved that the atmosphere wasn’t too loud, so you can actually enjoy your drink and conversation. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city for craft cocktails and a chill, classy evening!

The Bouncer can kick rocks. Don't come here after you've bought anything in Chinatown or you'll be denied entry with packaged food.

Was this place called the gold flower back in the 90s. I used to be the bouncer there. This place has such a great history and some of the best memories of my life.

I absolutely loved the creativity in their cocktail menu! The bar area has such a cozy vibe, which can make it feel a bit crowded at times, but the amazing bartenders definitely make it worth it. I’d suggest arriving early so you can snag a great spot!

Do your self a favor and read all of the 1-star reviews before deciding to go here. Go a few doors down to Chinese Tuxedo instead.
You might find this place to appeal based on its silly pharmacy theme and want to go grab a drink after dinner, but don’t bother if you have any bagged/sealed leftovers from said dinner, because you’ll be AGGRESSIVELY turned away by the extremely unprofessional bouncer. Why does the bouncer at a cocktail bar even need a body camera? We got rudely turned away simply because we had some leftovers from Little Italy completely sealed and in a shopping bag! Definitely not a welcoming place at all. Went a couple doors down and got great cocktails with super friendly service and absolutely no problem with the fact that we’d been out exploring the city all day and just happened to have a bag full of things from our adventures.
