About Lei

Lei offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and 10/10 service. Guests can expect good, thoughtful wine options, perfect for those who love to eat out or are wine connoisseurs. The restaurant's unique genre is a strong calling card. Portions are smaller, ideal for trying a variety of dishes. While the space is tight, it is comfortable. Food and service are great, with steady pacing and perfect portion sizes for two diners. Recent reviews highlight the interesting wine selection, including chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc, and grenache, which complement seafood and meats well. Dishes like the soft shell crab, beef carpaccio, daisy salad with chrysanthemum vinaigrette, scallop crudo, sweet and sour beef short rib, and the eight treasure rice pudding with sticky toffee are highly praised. The crispy chili crab, though spicy, is a standout, and the noodles with cumin lamb are a favorite—so good that even those who don't love cumin enjoyed them. The intimate space features dim lighting and numerous wine bottles, creating a cozy atmosphere. Overall, Lei is a fun place to enjoy a variety of dishes and a wide selection of wines.

It feels like upscale Chinese tapas, perfect for sharing with friends, maybe difficult to come as a solo diner for a meal. Everything was incredible, a wonderful spin on Chinese cuisine while still being faithful to classic ingredients. My only mild complaint is that the music is on the loud side, and the chopsticks are form over function. It’s hard to pick anything up with them.

Lei is a wine bar serving Chinese cuisine. I love the concept, but I walked out not loving the restaurant. It has too many issues, everything shy of perfect. But then again, Lei has only been open for a year. I think the place will be amazing in two years once they’ve sorted out all the kinks.

First, the awesome parts. The wine list is amazing. Lei is not about having some big names at a high markup. No, Lei’s wine list features interesting, great quality, less...read full review
