Ein toller Abend mit super Musik (open Mic)! Essen war köstlich und der Caipirinha ebenso. Ein perfekter Abend in dieser kleinen tollen Bar! Wir werden es nicht vergessen! Ein Highlight unseres New York Reise!
The food is great bonus, wonderful music! Just a great place to bring a date celebrate a birthday!
Great find, food was good, only down side is we were stuck in a tiny back room with only 4 tables instead of the regular dining room. Not comfortable, but next time we will request only main restaurant
The brunch at sugar bar was just ok to me. I ordered the two pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon and hash browns. The pancakes were dry, lukewarm and they give you two cold butters that never fully melt onto the pancakes. The kraft syrup in a pack screams corner store breakfast for cheap rather than a high end black owned restaurant. Coat check is $2.00 cash only so make sure you carry cash. Our reservations were 12:00pm. There was no band at that time and only a few people sprinkled. Brunch crowd I assume starts later in New York. Overall I would give my brunch plate 4/10.
Excellent time at the Sugar Bar! Food, service and music were great. I will definitely go again soon.
It was my mother's birthday and we had an amazing experience. It started from the door with a warm welcome to great customer service to excellent food. We will definitely be back soon!
Hospitality was unmatched, I felt like we were regulars the way they embraced us and checked up on us constantly. Everything we ordered was delicious I even took two meals to go and dessert.
A must do if ever in New York City ❤️

The garlic shrimp appetizer and steak entree were simply delicious. I'm definitely going back for more. 😋

We came in as a walk in for a quick dinner before our show at Beacon theater. Although there were tons of seats up front, they Sat us in the back. They called it "the garden" but it was Barron, not a lead in site. It was indoors btw.
Food and drinks were mehhh to be honest. We came for happy hour but didn't know only certain drinks were on menu. That was our fault, we didn't ask I guess. Food ordered the Banana Rum punch which was cute. The crab stuff shrimp was just ok. Wings were tasty but ok. And buffalo wrap was also just ok. Our server was really nice though. Wish I could remember his name but he was kind and got our order in fast. Service was the only great thing.

Went this Sunday for dinner. Absolutely spectacular. Walking in and immediately greeted with a warm welcome. We started out with the delicious jumbo shrimp and crabmeat. They were soo yummy! For dinner we ordered lamb shanks with mac and cheese and collard greens. When you order lamb there’s not much meat on them but not here. It did not disappoint! We also ordered fried chicken and he got his own mac and cheese because I wasn’t sharing 🤭Domenic our server was fantastic and suggested both sauces for the lamb. I suggest the jerk sauce with the fried chicken actually. I’d absolutely come back in a heartbeat!

This spot is IT!! I think my boyfriend and I could have stayed there all night if we wanted with how homely this experience was. We were greeted by an amazing older woman who may have been the owner. The cool thing is, it’s truly a brownstone! The food was phenomenal and not over seasoned! 10/10 would recommend and go again!
