Unfortunately, at this point this place is all hype and no substance. At 7pm on a Thursday we waited outside for 20 minutes without anyone opening the door to greet us. After a long wait and finally getting in, the two bartenders were overwhelmed and we only got one cocktail in an hour and 15 minutes. We closed out without getting a second cocktail and were hit with a bill for $23 drinks before tax+tip.

It was my first time visiting a speakeasy, and Attaboy gave me a pretty great experience. Although we had to wait nearly two hours since they don’t take reservations, it was worth it. The experience is fun and unique — there’s no menu, so you can describe your drink using any words, and the bartender always surprises you with something amazing. There’s no dress code. Each drink we ordered this time was $23. No food is served here, so make sure to eat before you come!
Best cocktails in New York City. Controversial? Maybe. But I’ll stand by it.

From the nondescript door to the intimate, hidden vibe, Attaboy feels like stepping into a different world. The space is cozy, low-lit, and beautifully curated without trying too hard. Whoever’s managing the flow at the door — owner or manager — deserves a shoutout. They keep things moving without killing the vibe, and the result is a space that never feels overcrowded or chaotic.
