Truly a wonderful meal! Courses arrived at a nice pace, our server stayed attentive, plus every dish had rich flavor. The root drink was refreshing, the crunchy mix salad hit the spot, the steak was tender, the sea fish dish was fresh, fries were crisp, greens perfectly done. Seating felt a bit tight due to a full house, yet that simply shows how popular this place is. A fantastic visit overall!

Amazing elevated smash burger
Multiple things to give 1*
1.st - careful with sodas : they are not giving entire bottles. They ( bar women with name Isabelle) will pore just half of Coca-Cola and put a ton of ice to cover the “ cheating “ cause they will use that very Coca-Cola for someone else
2nd- French fries is really bad. I guess it was freeze one and they didn’t take their time to defreeze before frying so it was horrible. Not eatable
3rd - a lot of servers are doing NOTHING, like literally nothing. For example a guy tall with glasses was walking here there chatting with colleagues and doing nothing while we were not proposed proper table cause apparently “ no server “ so we were installed on the bar ( how I saw the cheating mentioned above ). Not true. Were only 5 tables busy with “ millions” of servers who was doing nothing.

Probably one of the best burgers in my life. We came for a Sunday Brunch. The double cheese burger(make sure you add bacon and egg, especially the bacon!) was bomb. So tender, juicy, satisfying. We also love the Délice de Bourgogne, and French fries. For the dessert, the server recommended the Guinness gelato which is off menu, and was really delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, amazing food, our server was wonderful. Such a great time. I do hope they stop charging the ridiculous reservation fee… I think it’s fine to charge per table. But per person? It really is too much.

We love Au Cheval and keep coming back. The Double Cheeseburger with Egg is honestly one of the best burgers in NYC, perfectly juicy and full of flavor. The General Jane’s Fried Chicken is another must-try, super crispy and the sauce is absolutely incredible. Their cocktails are also amazing.
The atmosphere is warm and stylish, and the service has always been great. We went on my birthday this time, and they surprised me with a candle on ice cream, which was such a sweet gesture. Always a fantastic experience here.

Au Cheval absolutely lives up to the hype.
The atmosphere is moody, chic, and effortlessly cool, and the service is warm without being over the top. The food just incredible. The burger is genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had, rich, perfectly cooked, and unforgettable. Every dish feels elevated and indulgent in the best way.
If you want somewhere with amazing food, great cocktails, and a vibe that feels special, Au Cheval is a must.

We waited over an hour and the staff are completely useless. Just avoid it, it’s not worth it.
