The bartender, a Serbian girl with glasses, is rude and unfriendly. She doesn’t smile even for a second and has a face like she’s pissed off. I was scared even to order or ask for a check. The appetisers were dated and cold. No sense to serve bread and hummus and spend the restaurant’s money if it’s cold.

The food was incredibly delicious and everyone in our group loved it. I came with friends and it was totally worth it. The hummus and tuna tartare were both amazing. I ordered the salmon with grilled veggies and had zero regrets. The dessert platter took the experience to another level. Definitely a five-star visit.

Very busy and bustling most of the time, during lunch or dinner. Reasonably tasty and healthy food choices. Good level of service considering how busy they were.
I went to Avra this past weekend with family and it was such elegant dining and amazing customer service! The waiter was extremely kind and kept checking that we had a very good experience . I ordered a Shirley Temple. The Avra chips are DELICIOUS! I also had the calamari with aioli sauce. So exquisite! Definitely going back next time

We found this place by chance when planning my sister's birthday. Any born/raised New Yorker would agree that the number of new quality places that possess a certain ambiance, much like the old Tao Group places of the 2010s are few and far between now. But Avra is like dipping into older New York - amazing quality food from renowned chefs within an epic and beautiful setting that really makes the meal feel special. And without any young tiktoking crowd that cheapens it (we were celebrating a higher age). Truly hard to find and I am so glad we did. Now typically places like this can be snooty or service can be lacking. TBH that's what I was expecting making this last minute change for a large birthday dinner group and I was dead wrong. The service was impeccable, respectful, personable and attentive with just the perfect bit of coddling (they had security come to my car and take the cake to their fridge without me asking). In a city that used to be kind, but not nice, Avra upholds the true standard of dining as a New Yorker. It's not try-hard at all, the other patrons were energetic, but not obnoxious, the lighting and trees and general scene was gorgeous, the steaks and seafood were perfectly cooked and they made it an amazingly special night for us. We can't wait to go back. I am not sponsored or paid (though I could be persuaded) and truly I'm a hater in general, but I don't think I've had such a good time at a place in awhile and it's worth noting. Thank you to the Avra staff.

Lunch today was disappointing. Our server, an older gentleman, was dismissive and unfriendly, making the experience uncomfortable. One item on the mixed appetizer plate had a spoiled, fishy taste like and was inedible.

We came for drinks and dinner. During dinner they expanded our table and it was a little bit tilted. We then ordered after dinner drinks and one fully spilled since the table was tilted. Not once did they offer to help or try to clean. My dress will need to be dry cleaned, and maybe my belt. At any other place they would have comped something or apologized. They did not and it was very disappointing. They also added sides and appetizers that we did not order.
