I got pad thai, curry puffs, and red curry for takeout. The Pad Thai was super sweet and inedible. The curry puffs were really good and the red curry was nice too. But there are so many good Thai restaurants around that would never mess up pad thai like this. Will not be coming back.
I really wanted to like this place. The reviews were amazing, and I knew from jump this is not the place to go to for excellent service. The chef and owner can be brash and downright rude. He is so busy doing everything in the place,that you as the guest are expected to just hang out until the food is done. When I went in, he didn't greet me at all, there were no tables available but I didn't mind waiting. I saw he had 4 different tables full of people waiting for food...
I've been eating at Bangklyn since 2001, and I've never been disappointed. The food is amazing, and the owners are kind and humble. I go every few weeks because the food is so delicious.
