Truly one of the most awful meals I've ever eaten. Oily and flavors were as if it was from tinned sauce for catering companies. Service is bad too. No wonder the place is empty. No redeeming features.

The kitchen creates magic while the staff creates comfort. The team delivered reliable quality throughout our visit. I frequent this place more than any other. The food has that straight-from-market taste. I'll dine at this place again.

I guess my expectations were too high! I expected to eag the very best dumplings ever… I ordered a crispy one - which I thought was crispy from frypaning it but it was actually deep fried, and too oily so I didn’t even finish it - and the grandma’s soup dumplings - which don’t get me wrong, they were good, but just not wow as in my opinion they should have been and it is suppose to be the main dishes in the restaurant!

Food is overrated: the signature bao is ok, everything else shows lack of thought and care.

Stopped by for lunch after spending the day at a nearby day spa. Ordered the sticky rice, chicken soup dumplings, Peking duck bao, and shrimp dumplings. While initially wifey was disappointed in the size of the shrimp dumplings and sticky rice, it worked that it was plenty of food. Everything was tasty. I really enjoyed the duck seeing as how I have not had it in a while. The chicken soup dumplings tasted great as well. Wifey enjoyed the shrimp dumplings and the sticky rice.

Service was quick. We were seated right away and the place was not busy.

Most likely would come back if in the area again.

Best Soup Dumplings. The Real Deal.

Nice restaurant, good food, quiet place. It could be complicated to get a seat. Some waiting could be expected…

Not really that authentic, xiao long bao dumplings are too thick. Not recommended.

I apologize in advance as my photo doesn’t do the restaurant justice…but I scarfed down half the meal before realizing that the food was so delicious I should leave a five star Google review.

I’ve come a few times and the service is friendly, attentive, and fast. There are also always customers speaking Chinese which, if you don’t know, means it’s a good Chinese restaurant because actual Chinese people eat there.

Pork soup dumplings and the spicy fish hot pot are a must. A really generous portion of pork and fish in each.

Pretty good Chinese find near the corner of 20th street, especially around the area where it’s rarer to find one. Had their lunch meals at $15 each with a wide variety of option - includes a bowl of rice and a soup as well. Really loved the sweet and sour soup - really well done and not too overly flavored or thick like most places. Rice was fragrant and tasted as if it’s a home-cooked meal. Ordered the Kungpow Chicken as the main - it was pretty average - some were overcooked and charred, and overall the black bean sauce was a little too overpowering. Also abit on the oilier side in overall. Service otherwise was prompt and efficient. Plenty of good seats inside too in a clean environment. Worth a try for sure if you are craving for Asian cuisines - not sure if this is truly authentic Asian style but surely can fulfill your cravings.

Service was great. No complaints there, but boy, the food was BAD. It was edible sure, but bad. The soup dumpling skin is SO thick and the filling inside was dry. The only decent dish was the jellyfish. I am all for supporting minority business if it’s actually authentic and good. I do not recommend at all. They need to get a new chef. The scallion pancakes BREAK my heart. They are so dry and flavourless. Why do you put bacon in there?? There is NO scallion flavour in there. The only thing that was good is the fried rice, but PLEASE remove the frozen pea, carrot crap. The whole meal was TOO overpriced. Please go to chinatown for some authentic cheap chinese food.

Very average food. Nowhere close to that 4.7 rating it currently has.
Xiao long Bao (grandma’s pork soup dumplings) has such a thick skin and is not authentic at all.
Also the homemade fried dough was way too hard and too crispy than it should be. Nobody made it this way??? Like, this dish is below average for sure.
My girlfriend simply wanted to have dim sum and we picked this one because at least there is no cockroach found in the food based on previous reviews. But I feel like clean is the only good thing about it…

As a Shanghainese, I have to say this restaurant does a poor job of representing authentic Shanghai cuisine and falls far below expectations. I really don’t understand how it got this rating… I ordered traditional dishes like pork and vegetable wontons 上海菜肉馄饨and pan-fried buns/dumplings 小杨生煎. The wontons were particularly disappointing—only filled with meat, lacking vegetables, and tasted like they had been frozen for a very long time. The fried buns were overly thick and have bland flavor… Honestly I felt sad after tasting the dishes because I was missing the home flavor and the real Shanghainese cuisines don’t deserve this bad representation. So I decided to give my feedback hoping they could improve. But what made it even worse was the staff's attitude - when I shared my feedback, they dismissed it, saying these dishes "sell well" and that they were just employees, not the owner. This lack of respect for customer feedback was very disappointing. If you're looking for authentic Shanghai flavors, you might be let down here.
