A phenomenal experience. The drinks are absolutely stunning, but it's really the hospitality and the warmth of the staff that make Bar Contra an A+ experience. A must-visit in NYC,  whether you are a local & longtime New Yorker or it's your first time in the city. Don't miss the food either, especially the beef tartare and the frozen popcorn. Dessert is sure to hit.

I’m not even kidding this is the best place I’ve ever had tacos at. They are sooo good I still think about them😭🩷 I visited from Texas and the service, food, and ambience were amazing. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken tacos

One of my favs… Sagittarius B2: rum, raspberry orgeat, acid raspberry - all shaken up. Some very good cocktails being made at @barcontranyc on the Lower East Side in NYC 🌃🔥💫

You must come here - cocktails are unique and tasty, and the food is inventively delicious. Loved the scallops and chicken wings, as well as the potato ice cream. Bar staff were super friendly and pleasant to chat with as well!

great food, AMAZING desserts - excellent drinks! I would give away some seats so it doesnt feel so crowded and more upscale. The section on the back doesnt feel as nice as the front. I like the place a lot

Extremely Disappointing Experience
We put our name on the waitlist and were told it would be about an hour. We ended up waiting over two hours, even though there were several empty tables. Each time we asked the host about the delay, we were told they couldn’t seat us yet — with no clear explanation.
To make matters worse, we asked if we could sit at the bar, and the host said we couldn’t. Just a few minutes later, we watched him tell two other guests that the bar was first come, first served, and seat them immediately. This was not the first time we’ve had issues here — we’ve tried coming multiple times, and either never received a text back or were ignored even with a reservation.
At this point, it’s hard not to feel that this place discriminates based on who you are. It’s unacceptable and extremely disappointing. We won’t be returning.

Such a nice spot to stop by after a meal in LES if you’re in the mood for dessert and drinks. I feel like you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. the candarin orange was perfectly balanced. The potato ice cream sounded intimidating but was surprisingly good, just a bit too jammy for us to finish. Love the aesthetics!
