I went specifically to try the carbonara and left disappointed. It was just bland, and didn’t taste like carbonara. And it seems like they use the supermarket pasta.

Went here for my birthday this year and was blown away. The quality of the ingredients and the food overall was top tier. Very busy and lively on a Saturday night but that's expected. Would definitely come back here.

Great pasta, cocktails and vibes here! A perfect Bowery neighborhood classic. My group enjoyed the vodka ricotta agnolotti, the cacio e pepe & the squid ink campanelle. Also had some great manhattans and the burrata appetizer to start.

the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. i don’t think this restaurant is worth going out of your way for but if you live close or stumble upon it and are very hungry it’s worth a try. we ordered the meatballs, squid ink pasta and ravioli. the meatballs were very tasty but everything else was eh. the squid ink had almost no flavor to it and the ravioli was in a brown butter sauce that had an odd acidity to it. the atmosphere is cute but service is slow. if there’s one thing i can’t stand its slow service so i wouldn’t come back.

All around best experience I've had in NYC dining.Matt was our server and was outstanding.Food was incredible. I recommend the black squid ink pasta dish, pistachio gelato, steak, brussels were amazing, as well as the steak. Also it wasn't too loud unlike most places here. Which is huge in my book.

The food was really great! The only thing we didn’t love was how cramped the tables were. It was hard to have a conversation when you can hear the tables on either side of you.

First of all, its menu and its employees is very good. We saw this place because Taylor Swift came in East village.I liked the steak very much, but the potatoes were too undercooked. My friend made the same comment about the pasta. Everything was fresh and tasted good, but overall I do not give full points to the place because I cannot make a comment such as it was the best I ate. About avarage I mean.

Spent a rainy sunday afternoon with the best comfort meal in the city! Bar Primi is such a great go-to spot with friends, family, or date night. You have to start with the meatballs - star of the show! We shared a plate of Rigatoni Carbonara and Chicken Piccata. Had a few drinks as well with the Paloma, Aperol Spritz, Sauvignon Blanc, an Espresso Martini. The vibe and the ambience is unbeatable. It’s romantic and cozy but also full of energy. I’ve dined here plenty of times and am always satisfied with my experience.

Bar Primi: A Valentine’s Delight? Rating: 4.5/5My partner and I visited Bar Primi for a romantic Valentine’s dinner, and it was an evening to remember. Here’s a breakdown of our experience:Starter: Ricotta BruschettaThe ricotta bruschetta was a delightful beginning. Creamy ricotta paired with crispy bread with touch of fresh honey—simple yet satisfying.Primi: RavioliThe heart shape ravioli stole the show. Each slice of pasta was perfectly cooked, and the flavors danced harmoniously. A comforting choice for a chilly February night.Dessert: Gelato with Sorbeti Coffee FlavorThe gelato was a revelation! The coffee-infused sorbeti added a delightful twist. We savored every spoonful, feeling the warmth of the coffee against the cold gelato.Presentation and IngredientsThe heart-shaped pasta and bread were a charming touch. It felt like the chef put extra love into the plating. And those ingredients! Freshness radiated from each bite. It’s as if they were handpicked from a nearby farm just for us.AmbienceNow, about the ambience—I agree. New York City’s space constraints are a challenge for many restaurants. While cozy, and great music I wished for a tad more intimacy. Perhaps dimmer lights would enhance the romantic vibe.OverallDespite the ambience, the food was the true star. Bar Primi’s commitment to quality shines through. We left with full hearts (and bellies) and would gladly return.Bib Gourmand (good quality, good value cooking) worthy for sure. In summary, Bar Primi is where flavors meet love. Cheers to an enjoyable evening! ?❤️Vegetarian options: My partner is a vegetarian and they were great to preapare her drink without the egg white. The vegetarian dishes we tried including bruschetta and ravioli were amazing.
