About Kissaki Sushi

Kissaki Sushi offers an exceptional omakase experience, with fish flown in from Japan twice a week. The restaurant is known for impeccable service, with attentive staff who answer questions about the food and begin the meal with warm hand towels for cleanliness. It features beautifully presented dishes and a reasonable price point, complemented by optional wine and sake pairings. The executive chef, Edgar, showcases the fresh ingredients before the meal, and the menu includes a range of options beyond omakase. The interior of the restaurant consists of an omakase bar in the back and a cocktail bar at the front.

The culinary experience is remarkable, with dishes like the fluke wrapped around grapefruit, garnished with summer truffle, and dipped in homemade ponzu sauce, offering delightful flavors. The Hokkaido Uni with egg yolk sauce, caviar, lemon zest, and Japanese squid presents a wonderful balance of flavors, while the Hokkaido Scallop topped with truffle and cream sauce showcases outstanding freshness. Each bite, from the Japanese amberjack (Kanpachi) topped with Mirin Dashi to the Monkfish Liver (Foie Gras of the Sea), delivers a satisfying experience. The Baby Hamachi topped with roasted paprika adds a unique dimension to the meal. The 11-course omakase included appetizers and nigiri. The appetizers were a highlight, with mackerel paired with fermented miso, and tuna on pumpkin tempura with caviar, wasabi, and truffle. The sake that was recommended was amazing, light, fruity, and a bit sweet. The 8 piece nigiri was excellent, and the restaurant week menu was a great value. Many customers highly recommend it to anyone who loves omakase and look forward to returning.

Food poisoning. BAD food poisoning.

This was an unfortunate incident made far worse by the response and behavior of "Joe Johnson", supposedly the Dir of Operations at Kissaki Hospitality Group - although, I can't find any information about him online so I'm going on the assumption that it's an alias. Perhaps he's Justin Marquez who is the listed Dir of Operations on Linkedin. Again, that's an assumption. I have no idea who "Joe Johnson" actually is.
