Nice chill place in the East Village; a bit away from the crazy busy part which is great if you are looking to avoid the loud noise.

The bartender added a 25% mandatory tip without asking and then prompted an additional tip. Since when do you need to mandatory pay tips for 2 drinks? Definitely not visiting again.

I enjoy Bar Veloce and was glad to pop into this location (my first and last time) before seeing a film. Unfortunately, I left without ever having a drink. The bartender, an older man, never acknowledged me and silently set down a glass of water after minutes of me sitting at the bar. Never came around to ask what I’d like. Gave him grace considering he was tending to outdoor patrons as well. However, a guy with skin much paler than mine came in, stood next to me, and was immediately addressed. I interrupted him and said I’d been waiting to order and he totally stepped back. But the bartender waved me off as if I were a nuisance. Literally waved his hand at me.
When I say I was disgusted, I mean it. Got up and promptly went across the street to another wine bar where I was treated with—wait for it—respect.
Will gladly go out of my way to never patron Bar Veloce bars again.

waiter didn’t check on us for almost an hour then came around 10 minutes after happy hour ended to take a second round, disappointing service!
Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Loved it there
Bartender was arrogant. Would set down drinks and not say anything and Like put them out of reach. They wouldn't put on the live Mets game instead played a replay of f1 because they refuse to play American sports. I know it's not a sports bar but the way they went about it was rude.
Always good service.
Always good food.
A neighborhood staple.
This was a nice stop for a drink before our reservation at Delice and Sarrasin. I was so surprised to see that happy hour was from 3 to 7 EVERYDAY! Even on a Saturday! I got a $7 glass of rosato and my partner for a couple $5 beers. We sat at the bar and enjoyed that, but if you're lucky you might get a spot outside.
Rude bartenders

Great experience with amazing staff my only concern is not having much more food options for very hungry people. Other than that the panini I had was great but I didn’t want to order two of them cause I was starving.
Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for an event space (or just a good time). Very helpful staff, great drinks, and a beautiful venue.
Great selection of wines and very nice atmosphere!
Fabulous wine bar & platters
I don’t know how anyone can say anything negative about this neighborhood staple. The service is always great, the happy hour specials are unpretentious and perfect, and the staff are always kind and welcoming. I live in the neighborhood and often come here with my little dog to read and relax, and I am always welcomed with a smile and a cold drink. This is one of the most underrated staples in the neighborhood. So if you haven’t been here before, you definitely should plan a visit.
