Small disclaimer I was there as a reviewer, so my experience is from how I saw them handling other customers when it comes to service. The food was fantastic and the matcha dish surprised me. The combinations of flavors for each dish was fantastic and well thought out.

Kanoyama is an excellent Japanese restaurant in New York City. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, including gyoza, karaage, sushi, rolls, and miso soup. The restaurant is known for its amazing sushi and sashimi, which are praised for their freshness and high quality. The sushi chef puts a lot of thought and effort into preparing each dish, and the sashimi platter is a must-try, served with a bowl of rice for a satisfying meal. The selection, atmosphere, and overall standard of service are excellent, with prompt service and good timing for the presentation of orders. The sushi was overall pretty good, and the sashimi special was a good choice, with quality fish. While it is on the pricey side, the price isn't too bad given the quality. The restaurant can get busy, and it was quite warm inside.
