Barbetta offers a beautiful space, with a stunning hidden garden, making it a great pre-theater destination in NYC. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, a real bargain. The menu might need an update as it has remained the same for a while. Despite minor hiccups, Barbetta's top-notch service and charming ambiance make it a true gem. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional, offering recommendations when asked. Eating in Barbetta's garden area feels like finding a nice hideaway restaurant in Europe—quiet and surrounded by trees and shrubs that provide shade and coolness. The food is excellent, with dishes like Sea Bass, Crabmeat in Sherry, and the famous rabbit that many say is the best they've ever had. The atmosphere is lovely, with crystal chandeliers, white linens, and small lamps on each table. The courtyard at night is especially beautiful, away from the chaos of Times Square, perfect for a peaceful dinner. Service is prompt and attentive, and the staff often shares interesting historical facts about the restaurant and its history. While some parts of the decor, like the curtains and fake flowers, could use refreshing, the overall experience remains memorable. Barbetta is one of the few Manhattan restaurants that continues to offer high-quality atmosphere, courteous service, delicious food, and fine wines.
