Barbetta offers a beautiful space, with a stunning hidden garden, making it a great pre-theater destination in NYC. The menu might need an update as it has remained the same for a while. Despite minor hiccups, Barbetta's top-notch service and ambiance make it a true gem. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional, offering recommendations when asked. Barbetta's had a restaurant week menu which was wonderful and wonderfully priced. The decor is charming, lovely and old world, with crystal chandeliers, a flowery plant and a small lamp on every table and white linens. Eating in Barbetta's garden area reminds of finding a nice hideaway restaurant in Europe - it's quiet and surrounded by trees and shrubs that provide shade and coolness. The food is excellent, though the restaurant could use some updating, with the curtains looking tired and the fake flowers on the tables needing refreshing, as well as the ladies room in need of remodeling.
