About Barbetta

Barbetta offers a beautiful space, with a stunning hidden garden, making it a great pre-theater destination in NYC. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, a real bargain. The menu might need an update as it has remained the same for a while. Despite minor hiccups, Barbetta's top-notch service and ambiance make it a true gem. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional, offering recommendations when asked. Barbetta's had a restaurant week menu which was wonderful and wonderfully priced. The decor is charming, lovely and old world, with crystal chandeliers, a flowery plant and a small lamp on every table and white linens. Eating in Barbetta's garden area reminds of finding a nice hideaway restaurant in Europe - it's quiet and surrounded by trees and shrubs that provide shade and coolness. The food is excellent, though the restaurant could use some updating, with the curtains looking tired and the fake flowers on the tables needing refreshing, as well as the ladies room in need of remodeling. Barbetta is one of the increasingly rare Manhattan restaurants to maintain high quality atmosphere, courteous service, delicious food and fine wines. The restaurant was delightful. We were seated out in the Garden on a beautiful evening. We all four ordered from the Pre-theatre menu, all had different dishes, and all thought they were excellent. Service was prompt and attentive.
