Great experience except for the noise level ... we were a table of 6 and we were shouting at each other.
After being seated, we waited half an hour without being served water or getting any attention from the waiter. Absolutely terrible service we got up and left. The food did look good though, and the ambience was nice.
Fantastic food, you must have SILAN for dessert, absolutely incredible Date molasses, candied nuts, puffed rice, tahini mousse, shredded halva & spiced milk ice cream
Interesting food but deceptively spicy at times. “Crispy” artichokes anything but crispy. An insanely expensive wine list. The noise level rivals the tarmac at an airport. The service is non-existent because there are too few people to take the order. Not worth $100/person.
Food was awesome, but very loud inside. Next time I”ll eat outside on the sidewalk. Crispy artichokes were so yummy, as was the lamb.
I've been going to Barbounia about once per month. The service and food are consistently outstanding. Flavors and combinations I haven't had anywhere else. I rarely order. To zoom, but the waiter recommended it and it was fantastic. I'll order it again on my next visit.
Fantastic brunch. Don't sleep on the roasted cauliflower. Will definitely be back next time we visit!
Decent spot, the food is 4.5/5, but server didn't know the menu well. Bottomless mimosas were refilled on time though so no complains about staff. A little too noisy for a brunch spot with so much space.
Food and service were excellent and not excessively priced by Manhattan standards. Food was both creative and of good quality. Like most older folks, hearing in a noisy environment is challenging. Indoors is quite loud. We dined outdoors where they have a good number of tables, and it was delightful.
The food wasn't bad, but the desserts were terrible. The bill came to $316, and I left a $40 tip in cash, but the waiter chased me down and said he didn't like the tip, so I paid with a credit card and added a $50 tip. Did he tell me not to write down the tip before I wrote the tip? I hope he doesn't change it himself, because I didn't get a second receipt. But the treatment was awful. I can leave a tip according to my satisfaction, the waiter cannot interfere with this.

Very nice service staff - especially the bar. Dinner was delicious. Large portions. I had the branzino - fab!
I had the summer prefix lunch at $45. Great selection for the price. A nice prosecco too! All restaurant staff were wonderful.
The service was amazing and the atmosphere, lively. Food was a little over seasoned. Asked for a recommendation for a glass of white wine as I didn't look at the wine list and when my bill came, the glass of wine was $36! Didn't expect that!! Should have looked at the wine list. Passionfruit sorbet was lovely.
Place was fabulous - waited 2 weeks for that rose water panna cotta. Only subtracted a star for minor annoyance: they say "wild mushrooms" on the menu but they're just cremini. That's all though.
Service was lacking - it took forever for someone to come take our order and no one checked in on us. It was really loud, and the food was just ok. I had the branzino for $43, fish was ok and the green beans that came with it were undercooked and had no flavor. My husband had the chicken kabobs and was sick later that night.
