The food, service and atmosphere here are all 5 stars! The escargot here is some of the best I’ve tried. Their steak tartare was fresh and flavorful. The prices here are also very reasonable for a French restaurant.
I went here on a Hinge date in summer of 2022, and all I remember from this date was how good the chicken breast was. First, I don't eat chicken breast at restaurants, but something drew me to order it. It was actually one of the best chicken breasts I've had. It wasn't overcooked or dry- it was just right! The Niçoise salad is much better than the one I had in Nice, France, where the dish originated. The one at L’Express is made with fresh seared tuna in comparison to the one in Nice that was made with a can of oily tuna.The baby artichoke at L’Express was also exceptional.Prices of food and cocktails are reasonable for NYC, and the service at the bar was superb.
