I used to like going here but these days you get a slice of pizza crust with a slight dusting if cheese and wiped with just enough tomato sauce to give it a hint of color. It is not the great pizza it used to be.
If the pizza improves again so will my review but as it's been a slow downward slope I'm not holding my breath.

The pizza was pretty bad when they increased the price. I’m guessing they changed management or something as the price became 1 dollar again and there was actual marinara on the pizza. This spot was a 2 star before, now it’s a five! Bang for your buck! Don’t eat the veggie slices though, that’s why it’s a 4 star.
Vegetarian options: There are veggie pizzas along with a plain slice. They may make you sick though… As mentioned before I ate one and got sick.
Dietary restrictions: There are veggie pizzas. I ate a mushroom slices though and it gave me a stomachache though.
Parking: Don’t drive in NYC firstly, but if you must, there are no parking spots here usually. Godspeed.
Kid-friendliness: Very big slices. Your kid may not be able to eat all of their slice.
Wheelchair accessibility: Only entrance is via a small, short ramp.

Enter BD Star Pizza. Almost as soon as the thought ‘pizza’ entered my mind, I had a hot slice in my hand. It was soft, doughy, and with the addition of chili flakes — perfectly spicy. And… get this… 99 freakin CENTS!!!
My uber driver didn’t allow me to bring it in his car. I respected that rule, and took the three biggest bites I possibly could, and bid adieu to the rest of that slice. I am typing this in the uber, thinking back with gratitude on the slice and the prompt service.
Thank you BD Star… or should I say ‘BD Five Star’ pizza. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️???

It's a big slice of plain cheese pizza for $1.50. You can't complain about that. It was solid considering the price. A slice of pizza with toppings is $3 so still cheap.

The Bengali man working at 7pm, Tuesday 8pm had more importance chatting with his friend on the phone rather than helping customers. I'm Bengali though I may not look like it and low key understood the whole conversation. It was jovial but the whole time my friend and I ordered he kept chatting away rushing us. And when I asked a question about his red bull deal, he proceeded to curse me out in Bengali because I was interrupting his phone call. He looked really stupid after I told him I'm Bengali. The food came out luke warm and had stomach pains soon after eating. No safety precautions, not tasty food, disgusting customer service all adds up to a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. No wonder the price is cheap considering the surroundings, you're paying for an absolute trash experience.
Very disappointing. Pizza was undercooked and doughy, with very little sauce. Garlic bread was undercooked enough to be inedible. This pizza sits in some weird liminal space between thin and regular crust. Also found a hair in my crust. Would not recommend.

Extremely disrespectful with everything with service and price. They are the only dollar pizza place in nyc that is charging $1.50 and $25 for a pepperoni pizza??? That’s more then a high end pizza restaurant. Why would you pay that much for dollar pizza place. A whole pie is $8 with pepperoni would be $11 to $12. I’m assuming they are taking advantage because they are the only one in that area and it’s nothing but bars with drunk people so they are taking advantage.
