Been coming here since day one. My parents used to bring me here every Sunday as a kid. Best Japanese joint in LES. After moving abroad for 15 years, this was my first stop upon returning to NYC. The chef curated a beautiful platter of nigiri for us. Been dreaming about the fried green tea ice-cream for the last decade, and the chef made it specially for me despite it no longer being on the menu. Even better than I remember. Big love.
First step in the door, Ten and Ribbin welcome me with a warm hello and lovely smile, I choose to sit at the bar at this cozy oasis, and Chef Jack right away shows me what he is making and tells me what it’s called on the menu. It’s so friendly here. The waitress Ribbin is very attentive and comes back to check in and joke with me, between the timing to the service and their patience and friendliness with my indecisive existence, I feel so comfortable here. It was my first time in NYC and we stopped here out of a craving for sushi. We got there shortly after they opened, 5pm. The ambiance was comforting, the host was friendly, service was attentive, and the sushi was delicious. I recommend 10/10!Ps: Miso soup was great and only $3! :)
